Celine showed up at the door, but Barbara sent her packing with a few choice words.
It wasn't until Marcus's driver rolled back in the evening that Barbara got the lowdown on what went down.
"So you're telling me Haley ripped into them, making Marcus feel like a total loser and ditch his side chick?"
The driver, used to Barbara's rants about Marcus, nodded and said, "Mrs. Deross straight-up refused Mr. Miller's offer to work with the Lumi Group. She said it was 'cause Mr. Miller's got too many side pieces."
Barbara felt all kinds of ways hearing that.
Just a minute ago, she was ready to strangle Haley for that slap; she wanted to pay her back big time.
But now, she felt like Haley had her back.
Barbara had chewed Marcus out a million times, and every time, he'd hit her back, literally.
But Haley's rant not only embarrassed Marcus but also made him dump his favorite mistress.
That made her day!
She really wanted to ask Haley for the juicy details that made Marcus lose his cool.
Barbara smirked but couldn't bring herself to ask her old enemy Haley about it.
Meanwhile, Haley was chilling in Ivan's car, making a call.
It was Cauth, inviting her, Ivan, and the kids over for dinner.
Haley smiled and said, "Nah, we've got dinner sorted at home. We'll swing by in a few days."
After hanging up, Ivan's voice was right in her ear. "Why didn't you say yes?"
"Besides my dad and Bryan, the Lumi Family isn't exactly rolling out the welcome mat for me. It'd just be a hassle if I went." Haley turned to Ivan. "Why do I get the feeling you really wanna go?"
Ivan coughed, "I haven't officially met your dad yet."
He'd had some drama before, and after getting back, he was swamped with stuff. Haley didn't let him go to yesterday's shindig, so it got pushed back.
"What's the rush? You'll meet my dad eventually, even if you're not exactly a looker," Haley teased.
Ivan looked a bit miffed, "You saying I'm ugly?"
"Right now, kinda, yeah." Haley admitted.
A few days ago, Ivan had reconstructive surgery on his face, and it left him with a bit of a rough look for now..
Ivan parked the car in the yard and gave her a deep kiss.
When Haley was catching her breath, he asked in a husky voice, "Still think I'm ugly now?"
"Nope, my hubby's the hottest guy on the planet!" Haley quickly buttered him up.
Only then was Ivan satisfied, and he got out of the car, holding her waist.
As they got out, they saw Brenda playing with the four kids in the living room. When they walked in, Brenda quietly went upstairs.
Keith had already noticed something was up and whispered, "Mommy, what's up with Grandma?"
