After they happily finished their breakfast, Brenda came down the stairs, looking pale.
"Good morning, Grandma."
"Good morning, Grandma."
The children greeted Brenda one after another.
Brenda sat down at the table after walking over; Alfred promptly served the prepared breakfast.
Haley put down her utensils and stood up. She was about to go to the living room when Brenda called her, "Ivan, Haley, I need to tell you something."
Haley paused and said indifferently, "What is it?"
"I have a flight to Country Y this afternoon," Brenda said hoarsely. "I will be living in Country Y from now on. If you have time, you can come to Country Y for a few days."
Haley pressed her lips together in silence.
Given their relationship, cohabitation was unsuitable and awkward for both parties.
Ivan couldn't suggest that Brenda move out, so Brenda took the initiative to leave.

Owen climbed onto Brenda's lap. " Why are you going to Country Y? When I asked you before, you said you would stay in Watertown with us."

"No, I don't agree," Ivan suddenly spoke.
Not only Brenda but even Haley was taken aback.
She could tell that even if Ivan remembered what happened when he was fifteen, he didn't have much attachment to Brenda.
If Ivan had recalled more, the relationship between him and Brenda would likely have worsened.
Brenda leaving Watertown was the best choice.
"I know what you're planning to do," Ivan said coldly. "I won't give you that chance."
Brenda's eyes widened, and her lips trembled. "Ivan, you misunderstand me. I won't go looking for Martin again. Besides, I don't even know where Martin is being held. How could I find him? I just want to live alone and not disturb you anymore."
Ivan tightened his jaw.
When he was fifteen, it was Brenda who suggested that his father be convicted and tried.

"From today on, I will arrange a bodyguard for you," Ivan said calmly. "Wherever you go, he goes with you."
Brenda closed her eyes in despair.
