Chapter 87 Do You Like Ivan A Lot?

Haley felt relieved after reaching the bottom of the building with Angela in her arms. The little girl let go of her neck, full of self-blame and guilt on her face.

"Angela, tell mommy, how did you come to the Winston Group building?" Haley asked in a low voice. The little girl just stared blankly with her big eyes, unable to say a word.

Haley sighed, "You only need to nod or shake your head. Did someone bring you here?" Angela shook her head.

"Then, did you come here on your own initiative?" Angela nodded.

Haley pursed her lips. She really wanted to ask Angela why she came here, and how she knew about this place. But Angela couldn't speak, so it would be pointless to ask.

She gently touched her daughter's hair and noticed that Angela had changed her clothes. She was wearing a pink dress when she left in the morning, but now she had on a set of slightly oversized long-sleeved pants.

And when she had just arrived at Ivan's office, Angela seemed to have just finished bathing.
What happened that required a bath? Haley's crimson lips tightened bit by bit.

She shouldn't have left in such a hurry earlier. She hadn't clarified the things she needed to ask. She held Angela tightly and walked outside the Winston Group building, coincidentally overhearing a conversation among several security guards at the entrance.

"That little girl today was really beautiful; she was scolded by Mr. Winston. After carrying her for so long, I wondered if she's still doing okay," Michelle said.

"It's the first time I've seen Mr. Winston display such a tender expression. She surely wouldn't do anything to harm that little girl," Sarah replied.

"Hey, what do you think the relationship between that little girl and Mr. Winston is? Why would such a young child hide in the flower bed for two whole hours, just to wait for Mr. Winston?" Emma pondered.

"And the girl has been at the Winston Group for two or three hours already. Her parents haven't even shown up. Do you think Mr. Winston could be her father?" Lily speculated.

"The little girl was covered in mud, yet Mr. Winston didn't mind holding her. Maybe she's Mr. Winston's daughter," Jessica suggested.

"Tsk! Don't spread rumors, or you'll end up on the Winston Group's blacklist!" Lily warned.

"Phew! Don't let it circulate, or it will damage Mr. Winston's reputation. I won't be able to live in Cuenca anymore..." Emma exclaimed.

Listening to these discussions, Haley's expression became momentarily complex. So, Angela came to the Winston Group alone, got rejected, and then hid in the flower bed for two whole hours?

Due to her illness, Angela didn't have much patience and wouldn't engage in any activity for more than an hour. But now, she could squat in the dirty flower bed for so long just to wait for Ivan. Why did Angela need to see Ivan so badly?

Haley remembered their first meeting, when Angela rushed into Ivan's arms on the street.
Did that man have such a strong attraction for Angela?

Haley lowered her head and softly asked, "Angela, do you really like Ivan?"

A glimmer of light flashed in the little girl's innocent eyes, and she nodded heavily. Haley's mood became even more complicated. She had misunderstand Ivan. Ivan had carried Angela out of the flower bed, helped her clean up and change clothes.

In return, Angela scolded him and even poured a glass of milk on his head. Haley felt a bit awkward, but she couldn't bring herself to go upstairs and apologize.
