Chapter 1000
Bradley was getting yanked out by Ellen, but he couldn't stop sneaking glances at Camilla, who was just sitting there, all quiet.
Having a baby didn't mess with her looks or vibe at all. He thought, 'I wish I could have her.'
"What are you staring at?" Ellen snapped, "The Jenkins family doesn't give a damn about us anymore! And I heard they sold Camilla off to get in good with the Winston Group. It's nuts."
Ellen and Bradley walked out of the Jenkins Mansion, her words still hanging in the air.
Camilla didn't show any emotion. She got up, grabbed her suitcase, and said, "Mother, I'm leaving now."
Without a backward glance, she headed to the yard, tossed her suitcase in the trunk, and drove off. She'd bought that car after her startup took off.
Watching the car disappear from the Jenkins Mansion gate, Samantha let out a heavy sigh. "When will we ever repay what we owe Camilla?"
Nicole pouted. "Didn't the Jenkins family save her life too? We're even."
"The child in her belly..." Samantha murmured.
She was always hung up on the baby Camilla lost at birth. As a mom, Samantha knew how gut-wrenching it was to lose a child.
Samantha had sacrificed Camilla's baby to save her own, a nightmare she couldn't shake for years!
"Isn't she Mr. Winston's favorite now? If she can have his kid, this whole mess will be over," Nicole said, trying to comfort her. "I'm going to Watertown with her this time, and I'll set up chances for her and Mr. Winston."
Samantha gave her a skeptical look. "Are you sure you don't want to snag Mr. Winston for yourself first?"
"Mom, I'm your daughter!" Nicole pouted. "Yeah, I was into Mr. Winston at first, but he's only got eyes for Camilla. What can I do? Now that Camilla's rubbing elbows with big shots, if I stick with her, I can definitely find a powerful husband!"
Samantha thought for a moment before saying, "Nicole, I just want you to find someone who loves you, no matter their status."
"That's not happening!" Nicole said, "I'm not letting Camilla outshine me forever. My guy has to be at least on par with the Winston Group."
Camilla had a hunch about some of Nicole's schemes.
But she and Nicole never got along. As long as Nicole didn't mess with her, she didn't care about her plans.
The car cruised down the road with the news playing on the radio.
"A three-year-old girl went missing from Golden Sun Orphanage two hours ago. She was wearing a yellow long-sleeve shirt and gray pants, with two braids. Please keep an eye out for nearby children. If you have any info, report to the police immediately or take her directly to Golden Sun Orphanage."
Camilla was half-listening to the news when she spotted a yellow figure on the side of the road.
The little girl had braids, big eyes, and was wearing a yellow long-sleeve shirt. Her clothes were dirty and stained, but she was still super cute.
This adorable little girl immediately caught Camilla's eye. She hit the brakes and pulled over.
