Chapter 959
Haley's silhouette started to blur in the night as she slowly walked out of the camera's view.
Ivan switched to the next camera feed and heard Luke's voice. "Mr. Winston, there's an abandoned building at the end of this road. The government plans to demolish it within a month, so there are no cameras around."
Ivan's eyes narrowed. "What about after that?"
"After the abandoned building, there's a small fishing village. The Miller Group bought it three years ago, and the fishermen moved out a month ago. It's being demolished now, so no cameras there either."
Under Ivan's icy stare, Luke started to sweat. "But there are some fishing boats nearby with cameras. I'll check those right away."
Ivan looked at Haley's slender figure on the screen and raised his hand to cover it. "Haley, you can't leave me. The kids are waiting for you to come home."
Ivan spent the whole day combing through surveillance footage but found no sign of Haley.
Luke spoke nervously, "Mr. Winston, should we send some people to search underwater?"
Ivan's eyes turned cold and sharp. "What are you implying?"
Luke lowered his head in fear but managed to say, "Mrs. Winston disappeared on this road. We've searched everywhere and checked all the cameras, but she's still missing. The only possibility left is that Mrs. Winston might have..."
"Impossible!" Ivan suddenly stood up. "Keep searching! Turn Watertown upside down if you have to!"
Seeing Ivan like this, Luke sighed. He had never seen him lose his cool in all these years.
Luke didn't waste any time and quickly made calls to continue the search for Haley.
They searched for a whole week with no results.
Ivan quickly became gaunt and haggard. He had lost Haley, his beloved wife. She said she needed some time alone, and he actually let her go by herself.
He knew something was wrong with Haley; her mental state was deteriorating. He had been so foolish to let her go alone.
The Winston Group bought the small fishing village from the Miller Group at a high price and dug up the entire village.
Three months later, the small fishing village finally began its transformation. After two years of construction, a seaside resort was completed and named Haley Resort.
Haley Resort was next to the Lumi Group's resort, which was later acquired by the Winston Group, making it the largest leisure resort in Watertown, famous even overseas.
In the past four years, the Winston Group developed rapidly, maintaining its position as the top publicly traded company globally.
Four years flew by.
Watertown was still an international metropolis, with the Winston Group as the largest corporation in town.
Two hundred miles away from Watertown, there was a small town called Brussville, known for its pleasant environment. It was a popular spot for many people. A banquet was being held in Brussville.
In the lounge area, three women were seated. The slightly older one was Samantha Wallace, the wife of the head of the Jenkins Family. Sitting beside her were the two young ladies of the Jenkins Family.
"Camilla, the man in the gray suit is Bradley Reynolds," Samantha said with an elegant smile. "The Reynolds Family wants to form an alliance with the Jenkins Family. If you and Bradley hit it off, this marriage will be settled."
Sitting to Samantha's right was a stunningly beautiful woman, Camilla Jenkins.
Camilla's hair was elegantly pinned up, with a few strands falling on her forehead. Her cold eyes were slightly aloof, and her rosy lips were full and glossy.
