Chapter 50 I Just Like Her
"Mother, I don't want your hands stained with guilty blood, which is why I said those words to you," Keith tightly pursed his thin lips. "I'm sorry, I spoke too harshly. Please don't take it to heart."
Emily breathed a sigh of relief. She was afraid Keith would ask her to leave. Luckily, this little bastard didn't dare. She calmed herself and spoke softly, "Rest assured, I won't lay a finger on Haley anymore."
Keith had found out about her sending someone to deal with Haley today, which meant someone from the Winston family was keeping an eye on her. She couldn't personally give orders for any more of these image-tarnishing things; otherwise, Keith's attitude towards her would become worse.
"Why are you here again!"
Owen came downstairs from the second floor and his entire face was filled with displeasure as soon as he saw Emily. Her emotions, which had just calmed down, were once again provoked. But she knew she had lost control once, and she couldn't lose control a second time.
She forced a smile and said, "Owen, I heard from the butler that you've been studying these past few days. How is it going?"
"What's it to you?" Owen sneered at her, looking disdainful. "Just disappear from my house; I don't want to see you for even a second."
With Ivan not home, Owen's attitude became especially audacious. Alfred kept his head down, not daring to say a word, because he knew Owen detested Emily the most. Every time Emily came to the Winston Mansion, Owen would throw a tantrum.
Emily stiffly said, "Owen, I know you don't like me. I'll leave now so you won't be angry."
She stood up, hesitated for a moment, and added, "Keith, I'm counting on you to help with the matter I asked. I hope you can assist as soon as possible."
With that, she finally left the Winston family. Owen flopped onto the couch, discontentedly asking, "Keith, what does that woman want you to help with again?"
"Our mother, she's not ‘that woman', so show some respect." Keith said coldly, "I wanted to ask you, have you met Haley recently?"
As soon as Haley's name was mentioned, the coldness receded from Owen's face instantly. He sat on the sofa, swinging his short legs and spoke in a soft voice.
"Haley came to our house last night and made me a delicious bowl of noodles. I really like Haley. It would be great if she could live with us."
Keith's expression changed, "You said she came to our house yesterday?"
"Yeah, what's wrong?" Owen blinked his eyes, "Daddy brought Haley here."
Keith's heart sank. No wonder Grandpa wanted to harm Haley. This woman really knows no bounds, catching people off guard. She even got involved with Daddy.
"Keith, what's wrong?" Owen leaned closer, "I suddenly thought of something. If Daddy marries Haley, then can I see Haley every day?"
Keith furrowed his brows coldly, "Do you even know who Haley is? And you dare to let her marry into the Winston family?"
"I don't care who she is, I just like her!"
