Chapter 646

Katherine was extremely jealous.

She gripped her pen so tightly that the tip pierced the paper.

Haley seemed oblivious to her emotions and raised her voice. "Ivan, are you there?"

The door opened the next second. It was clear that Martin had been waiting outside. This realization made Katherine's face grow even colder.

"Haley, what's wrong?" Martin walked in, casting a hostile glance at Katherine.

Katherine was so angry she felt like she was about to explode. She hadn't done anything wrong at all!

"Ivan, I need a cup of coffee to calm my nerves," Haley said softly, with her misty eyes. "I love the freshly brewed lattes from that café on Rose Street. Could you get one for me?"

Martin gently patted her head. "Sure, I'll be right back."

He left immediately, as if afraid to delay Haley's coffee.

Katherine couldn't contain her jealousy any longer. She stood up, almost in a frenzy. "Is there any water? I want some water, mineral water is fine."

Haley pointed to a few bottles in the corner. "The nurse bought them this morning. They haven't been opened yet."

Katherine walked over, grabbed a bottle of water, twisted off the cap, and gulped down half of it.

The cold water finally seemed to quell the raging jealousy inside her.

With a calm expression, Katherine walked over and said, "Haley, let's continue. Let's not talk about nightmares. Tell me about your story with Mr. Winston. It will help me understand your condition better."

Haley nodded and began to speak slowly. "The story between Ivan and me isn't too complicated. After I returned from abroad, I had a minor car accident. Our daughter was the first to notice him. Maybe it was a father-daughter connection. She ran straight into Ivan's arms. That was our first official meeting."

Katherine listened quietly.

She felt the surroundings grow quieter and quieter. Gradually, even Haley's voice turned into a buzzing sound. Then, her eyes closed, and she fell into a deep sleep.

"Katherine. Katherine."

Haley called out tentatively and gave her a push. When there was no response, she got out of bed.

Haley quickly walked to the door, holding her breath to listen to the sounds outside.

There were only doctors and nurses moving around; Martin hadn't returned yet.

From the hospital to Rose Street, including the time to buy coffee, it would take at least forty minutes.

Ten minutes had already passed. Haley had half an hour left.

"Pitt, come out."

As soon as Haley spoke, a man rolled out of the wardrobe.

He was a slim, short foreigner with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing gold-rimmed glasses.

"Haley, I really helped you out this time. You owe me a big reward!"

Pitt had just gotten off a plane and had disguised himself as a nurse to sneak into the room. He had been hiding in the wardrobe for an entire day. His limbs were numb, and he almost died there.

Haley pulled him up and whispered, "We don't have much time. Let's get down to business first."

Pitt stood up, adjusted his glasses, and looked at Katherine, who was unconscious on the sofa. He smiled. "So it is Katherine. I met her at a seminar before. She was incredibly arrogant. It's hard to hypnotize someone with a very strong will,  but I have to give it a try."
