Chapter 539
Ivan finally got discharged smoothly.
They arrived at the Winston family at dinner time. The four children were seating quietly at the dining table.
Seeing the two come in, Owen dropped his knife and fork and rushed over.
"Mommy, you're finally back!"
"Mommy, are you going to the hospital tonight?" Todd asked.
Ivan coughed loudly, and the kids looked at him.
Keith exclaimed, "Daddy, you got discharged so soon?"
"Why don’t you stay in the hospital for more days?" Owen was quite upset. During the time when Daddy was not at home, he was free to do everything and he enjoyed it.
Ivan was speechless. ‘Don’t they want me to come back?’ he wondered.
"Come, sit down and eat." Mrs. Winston asked the servant to bring two sets of tableware. After Ivan and Haley sat down, she then instructed Alfred, "Did you put the bedding I bought this morning in the master bedroom?"
Alfred nodded with a smile. "Yup. All the decorations like curtains and carpets have been reorganized they way you asked."
Haley had a vague sense of unease.
Although she and Ivan had already obtained a marriage certificate, they hadn't had a wedding yet, so she always felt that she and Ivan weren’t really husband and wife.
But Mrs. Winston's words sounded like tonight she was going to share a room with Ivan.
She wanted to express her opposition, but she couldn't even find a reason to.
‘Forget it, we had shared a room before. There is nothing new,’ she told herself.
Haley calmly ate her meal.
A faint smile appeared at the corner of Ivan's mouth.
They got the marriage certificate this morning, so today was their wedding day, and tonight could be considered their wedding night.
"Alfred, you don't need to prepare!" Owen said unhappily, "Mommy will sleep in my room tonight, I want to sleep with Mommy!"
Alfred hesitated for a moment and said with emphasis, "You're already four years old, you should learn to sleep on your own."
"But I've never slept with Mommy." Owen pouted, feeling wronged, "Other kids have been sleeping with Mommy for at least two or three years since they were born. Mommy has to make up for these two or three years for me before I agree to sleep on my own in the future."
Keith added eagerly, "I've never slept with Mommy either."
Haley was sorry to hear that.
Todd and Angela used to sleep with her before they turned two, while Keith and Owen should have been sleeping with the nanny or alone in a stroller, which seemed quite pitiful to think about.
Before she could speak, Ivan's cold and stern voice rang out.
He tapped on the table as he said lightly, “Kids usually sleep with their parents. I can give you a chance to sleep with me."
Owen thought, ‘No one wants to sleep with Dad, that would be too scary to fall asleep.’
Keith preferred sleeping alone.
"I will sleep with you all tonight, okay?" Mrs. Winston smiled and said, "I learned some bedtime stories. Tonight, I will tell you stories, little ones."
"Yay!" Angela cheered the most, clapping happily.
Owen was afraid of being dragged over to sleep with Dad, so he also clapped and said, "I’d love it, Grandma!"
