Chapter 623
And Robert's hands also had thick calluses, probably from holding guns all year round.
Why wouldIvan have such a person by his side...?
Many thoughts flashed through Haley's mind, but in reality, it was only one or two seconds. Haley suppressed her thoughts, squatted down with a gentle smile and said, "Keith, go home with Robert, and I'll go back home later tonight."
Keith was really scared this time.
He completely realized that Ivan was different from before.
Keith also needed time to digest the confidential information he had just seen. He nodded. "Goodbye, Mom."
He lowered his eyes and walked out.
After Keith left, Haley finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She sat down on the sofa, with a bright smile on her face. "What event are we attending later?"
"A business celebration," Martin said lightly. "If you don't want to go, I won't force you."
"If I don't go, would you take Katherine or Kelly to accompany you?" Haley rested her face in her hands, smiling. "There are rumors of marital discord. Perhaps I should attend the event with you to silence those voices. However, I haven't bought a new dress recently. wouldyou accompany me to choose an outfit?"
Martin glanced at the time, it was past ten in the morning, still more than two hours before the banquet started.
He walked over and locked the silver safe in the cabinet, then nodded. "Let's go."
Haley put her hand in Martin's arm, with a bright smile on her face, yet the smile did not reach her eyes.
They walked into the elevator together and out of the Winston Group building.
Martin drove Haley to the entrance of a styling salon.
Haley got out of the car and said with a smile, "The styling salon you took me to last time was pretty good, why not go to that one?"
"This one is also good."
Martin took the lead and walked in.
Haley followed behind him, with a slight downward gaze, and the smile on her face disappeared.
After entering, the waiter warmly greeted them, "Mr. Winston, Mrs. Winston, welcome, do you still need the same stylist as last time?"
Haley sat on the sofa, with a light and elegant smile. "Yes, just let her do it."
But Martin's brows furrowed for a moment.
He stared coldly at Haley. "Are you testing me?"
"I just wanted to know if your memory is really failing." Haley smirked. "You said you would love me forever, but in just a month, you changed your mind. All the promises turned into nothing. So I wondered if you had amnesia, and the result of the test is that your memory seems to have really faltered. You were here at this styling salon over a month ago, and you don't even remember."
Haley shook her head, flipping through the styling catalog slowly.
Coldness hovered between Martin's brows.
Dealing with Haley was much more difficult than dealing with those children.
It was obvious that Haley was already suspicious of him.
It should have started when Katherine appeared; Haley's attitude towards him changed.
Martin pinched his brow, looking impatient.
Haley glanced at him, sneered, then got up to follow the stylist to choose a dress.
She didn't take this event seriously. She casually chose a black tight silk dress, with her hair tied up, exuding elegance and a hint of sensuality.
Martin sat on the sofa, looking up as Haley approached.
He suddenly envied Ivan, having such a beautiful wife, four children, and a warm home.
These were things he could never have in his lifetime.
