Chapter 750
Angela's piano performance reminded Todd of Angela's silence over the past month.
Angela hadn't mentioned it, so he assumed she knew nothing. However, she was more sensitive than anyone. She must have known about Ivan's accident long ago, but she couldn't comprehend what exactly had happened to Ivan.
Angela had lived in fear day and night, but finally, after meeting Ivan, she emerged from that darkness.
Thus, she could play this piece with composure.
As the initial fear faded, the performance gradually became more relaxed, and the audience's expressions changed.
Earlier, when the two accomplished pianists had played, the audience hadn't been able to fully immerse themselves in the music. But now, a little girl, who looked no older than four, had managed to make them feel the fear that the composer had intended.
Angela's piano skills might not be that proficient, but her emotional insight was exceptional.
No wonder Nathan had taken her on as a student.
The piece slowly came to an end amidst the audience's amazement and admiration.
Thunderous applause erupted in the concert hall.
The pianists who had been watching from the side initially didn't take Angela seriously. But as soon as the music started, they realized they had underestimated her, finding her performance increasingly remarkable.
As soon as the concert ended, the pianists hurried over. "What's your name? Can we have a quick chat?"
Angela jumped down from the high stool and shyly hid behind Todd.
"Sorry, she isn't good at communicating. You can talk to me instead," Todd said confidently, holding Angela's hand.
Keith also came over and said, "If she holds a piano concert in the future, I can send you tickets."
Owen stood in front of Angela. "Don't covet her, or you'll have to deal with me."
The pianists were thoroughly amused.
Haley felt a swell of pride as she watched from the audience.
Not long ago, she had braced herself for the possibility that Angela might spend her life confined to their home. Yet, in just a few short months, Angela had blossomed remarkably.
She had slowly learned to speak, began to communicate with those around her, and now she could even stand on stage, shining brightly.
Seeing Angela shine, Haley's eyes were filled with pride and joy.
"You've done a wonderful job raising your kids," Queen Isabella suddenly turned around and said. "When my daughter was that age, she was willful, naughty, and immature. Even now, as she approaches adulthood, she still manages to stir up trouble."
Haley remembered reading in the news that Isabella's only daughter had started dating at twelve and liked hanging out with street gangs. The media had captured this at least a dozen times. Having such a daughter was indeed troubling for Queen Isabella.
Haley smiled and said, "I'm here for a vacation. I heard there was a concert, so I brought the kids to cultivate their tastes. I didn't expect to meet Your Majesty. I'm from Country H, but I often see news about you. I greatly admire you for governing your country so well."
Talking about the country, Isabella regained her elegance. "Governing the country is my duty."
"Would you care to join me for afternoon tea??" Haley tentatively asked. "I admire you greatly, and if we could have coffee together, it would certainly be the highlight of my trip. My friends back home would be so envious."
Isabella curiously asked, "Am I that famous in Country H?"
"Of course." Haley smiled. "You are the ruler of a country and a woman, naturally making you the center of our conversations. We have many interesting stories about you. Would you like to chat over coffee?"
Isabella gladly stood up. "Sure. Let's have a cup of coffee together."
