Chapter 968
Ellen's words were blunt, and Samantha let out a sigh of relief.
"I've already said no." Camilla's face was icy. "Mrs. Reynolds, please leave and don't bring this up again."
Ellen narrowed her eyes. "Do you even know what you're turning down?"
Camilla smirked. Ellen always acted like she was above everyone. But not everyone wanted to be part of the Reynolds Family.
Camilla didn't want to argue with Ellen or deal with her any longer.
She pulled a report from her bag and handed it over. "Mrs. Reynolds, take a look at this medical report. If you still want me as your daughter-in-law after this, then I have nothing more to say."
Ellen glanced at it suspiciously and was immediately shocked. "Is this real?"
"Who would lie about something like this?" Camilla said with a faint smile. "Mrs. Reynolds, can you leave me alone now?"
Ellen's face darkened. She shot Samantha a cold look and walked away.
Samantha quickly followed. "Mrs. Reynolds, is there some misunderstanding? Weren't we just having a good conversation?"
She didn't want to keep living under the same roof with Camilla out of fear, but she felt guilty toward her, so she tried to do the best she could for her.
She had finally reached an agreement with Ellen. Why did Ellen suddenly want to leave?
"Samantha, you set me up!" Ellen snapped. "I don't believe you didn't know your adopted daughter had a child! No matter how reckless Bradley is, he would never marry a woman who has had a child!"
With that, Ellen stormed off. Samantha was stunned, then slowly turned back to meet Camilla's sharp gaze.
"Camilla, you..."
"Mother, I just went to the hospital." Camilla handed over the report. "The doctor said I had a C-section four years ago."
Samantha's fingers tightened. She quickly looked down at the report to hide her guilt and panic.
"Mother, when father found me back then, was I pregnant or had I just given birth?"
Camilla asked calmly, but her fingers curled up, showing her nervousness.
Samantha shook her head and sighed deeply. "Camilla, you must have listened to Bradley's nonsense and went to the hospital for a check-up, right?"
She sat down on the sofa, took a sip of water, and continued, "When you were found unconscious by the beach and brought back to the Jenkins Mansion, I noticed a scar on your abdomen. Nicole asked me what it was. I'm not a doctor, so I casually said it was an appendectomy scar."
"Then why did Nicole know I had given birth?" Camilla pressed, feeling that Samantha was still hiding something.
"Because when I took you for a check-up later, the doctor mentioned it." Samantha quickly made up a story and spoke without guilt. "I told Nicole not to mention it to you, but she ended up telling Bradley. She used to like Bradley, and when she was too young and naive to handle him, I didn't agree to their marriage. Now, she couldn't help but cause you trouble. This is Nicole's fault, and I will teach her a lesson."
