Chapter 724
"Leonardo's got this gnarly scar running from his eye to his lip, covering half his face. But even with that, he looks just like your dad."
"What?" Thomas was floored. "Haley, what are you talking about? I don't get it."
Owen's eyes went wide. "Mom, are you saying Leonardo is our dad?"
"No way!" Karl, who was eavesdropping, couldn't believe it. "Isn't your dad a businessman? Leonardo's a soldier, probably special forces."
Keith bit his lip. "When I met Leonardo yesterday, his voice sounded a lot like Dad's. I thought he might be Dad, but he didn't recognize Todd and me, so I brushed it off."
Todd whispered, "If he was really Dad, he'd know us and come find us."
Haley rubbed her forehead, her voice weak. "It's possible your dad has amnesia."
"What?" Angela's eyes widened. "Dad doesn't remember us?"
Keith looked shocked. "Why would he have amnesia?"
Haley sighed. "It must be Katherine. She's a top-notch psychologist and can do hypnosis. If it's advanced enough, it can erase memories. I don't know if Katherine messed with your dad's memory."
She had just checked, and restoring erased memories was only a matter of time.
But if the original memories were forcibly altered and distorted, it would be very difficult for Leonardo to become Ivan again.
"Haley, are you really sure Leonardo is Ivan?" Thomas furrowed his brow. "Ivan's only been missing for a month. How could he become the leader of the Black Gang in just a month? And with amnesia, how could he take that position? Haley, don't jump to conclusions just because you can't find Ivan. You need to confirm if Leonardo is really who you're looking for."
Todd looked up. "I'll go see him again and try to get a hair sample for a paternity test."
"I'll go. I'll find a way to get his hair," Haley said, her lips pressed tight.
"Alright, why the long faces?" Karl said with a cheeky grin. "If Leonardo really is your dad, you can strut around here like you own the place, and our studio will dominate!"
Haley frowned. "What studio?"
"Nothing!" Todd quickly said. "Karl's just talking nonsense."
"Mom, we're hungry. We want your cooking," Keith chimed in, trying to change the subject.
Haley, lost in thought, didn't have the energy to argue. She got up and went to the kitchen.
Todd pulled Karl aside. "My mom doesn't know about our studio. Keep it quiet."
Karl grinned. "I used to call you Boss, not knowing you were a kid. Now you have to take me as your elder brother and call me brother, or else..."
He glanced threateningly at the kitchen.
"I'm Todd's eldest brother," Keith said, annoyed. "Think of another title."
"How about I call you Uncle Karl?" Todd said coolly. "Or Grandpa Karl, your choice."
Karl was instantly annoyed. "Do I look that old?"
Thomas, ignoring the banter, felt his phone vibrate. It was a call from Ava.
He didn't want to answer but was curious about the situation in Watertown, so he took the call on the balcony.
"I thought you might hang up on me again." Ava's voice came through the phone. "I need to ask you something. Tell me the truth. Is Haley's disappearance related to you?"
Glancing at Haley in the kitchen, Thomas smirked. "Who went missing?"
