"Uncle Cauth, it's not your fault that the reporters barged in. What did you do wrong?" Ava said with a smile on her face, "Everyone is curious about Haley and Ivan's divorce. Haley, why don't you take this opportunity to clear things up for everyone?"
Ava addressed Haley affectionately, a hint of coldness in her voice.
Haley curled her lips into a bright smile, "If you can tell everyone about your love romance, I wouldn't mind sharing the details about my husband and me."
Ava's face turned completely sour.
She had always been the one pursuing Tomas, but she never got any results. If this were to come out, her good reputation would be ruined.
Ava was ultimately afraid that Haley would reveal it, so she obediently kept quiet.
Cauth led Haley to the spotlight.

Cauth took a deep breath and, holding Haley's hand, said, "This is my long-lost daughter. From today onwards, she will officially be part of the Lumi Family."

The guests, whether sincerely or merely for show, offered their congratulations, and the atmosphere in the room seemed warm and jovial.

Haley accepted the gift without hesitation and smiled warmly. "Thank you, Grandpa."
The term "Grandpa" brought a more pleasant expression to Bark's face.
With only Bryan as the direct heir of the Lumi Family and no other relatives, adding a granddaughter to the family meant an increase in the family's vitality.
"Haley, this is a welcome gift from me," Hollis said with a friendly smile. "We've known each other for quite a while, and now we're family. If you ever need anything, just let me know."
The past scandal involving plagiarism had made quite a stir, and everyone in Watertown was aware of it. Hollis' casual mention of it made it seem like a distant memory.
Haley, not letting it bother her, accepted the gift with a beaming smile. "Thank you."
She toyed with the two gifts in her hands, then continued with a grin, "So, does this mean I'm officially a member of the Lumi Family now?"
"Of course," Cauth quickly responded. "If you'd like to take the Lumi name, we can arrange for it to be changed tomorrow. If you prefer to keep DeRoss, that's fine too. We're not particular about that."
At this, Ava's lips twitched in annoyance.
Bark had always been wary of her because she wasn't a Lumi by name. Bark had insisted that once she became the heir to the Lumi Group, she must change her surname to Lumi.
Bark had treated her like an outsider, grudgingly accepting her as the heir only because Bryan was ineffectual.
Haley, her smile fading, asked earnestly, "Could you tell me if there are any additional conditions to becoming the heir of the Lumi Family, aside from being a member of the family?"
Her seemingly casual question hit Ava and Hollis like a sledgehammer.
Even Cauth was taken aback and hesitated before asking, "Haley, what are you implying?"
Haley's smile turned sly. "I'm simply asking if I qualify to compete for the position of the Lumi Family heir."
Ava's face darkened instantly. "Are you kidding me? You, a lowly illegitimate daughter, thinking you have the right to compete for the Lumi Family heir? Who gave you the audacity?"
