Chapter 447
The sound of rushing water came from the bathroom.
Haley rubbed her hair. Didn't this man just showered? Why is he showering again?
She turned her head to look at the frosted glass of the bathroom. There was no steam on it, which meant that this man was taking a cold shower.
It's autumn, and the chill is bone-piercing, yet he's taking a cold shower?
As if realizing something, Haley lowered her head and chuckled when she saw herself wearing a man's shirt.
She had wanted to test this man before, and now it seemed that there was already a result.
He would rather take a cold shower than do anything to harm her.
This indicated that he did learn to respect her.
Haley buttoned up the top button of the shirt and lifted the covers to lie down on the bed.
Today's situation wasn't suitable for discussion with the children, so they could talk about it another day.
She barely touched the bed before quickly falling asleep.
When Ivan came out of the bathroom, Haley was already asleep.
One of her long legs was exposed outside of the blanket, so Ivan walked over and gently covered her.
He dared not look at Haley anymore as he was afraid to take a third shower.
He lay down on the couch and fell into a difficult sleep.
Haley stretched and got up, naturally putting on slippers, but she realized that they were gray and too big.
Her mind was momentarily confused, and she turned to look at the unfamiliar furnishings, finally understanding where she was.
She abruptly turned to look at the couch, but Ivan was gone, and the blanket on the sofa was neatly folded.
There was a whole set of clothes on her bedside, with both underwear and outerwear.
Haley spread out the clothes and glanced at the size, which was her usual clothing size.
A puzzled expression crept into her gaze. After washing and changing clothes in the bathroom, she went downstairs in slippers.
Just as she opened the door, she came face to face with a lady dressed elegantly.
Haley froze.
She could appear calm and composed in front of Ivan, but she didn't know where to put her hands and feet when facing Mrs. Winston.
She came out of Ivan's bedroom.
"Haley, what would you like for breakfast? Just tell Alfred," Mrs. Winston said with gentle eyes, "Treat it as your own home; don't be shy."
Haley replied dryly, "Thank you, Mrs. Winston."
Mrs. Winston smiled and said, "I have something to attend to today; let's have coffee tomorrow."
She adjusted her collar, elegantly went downstairs, changed her shoes, and left.
Haley was unprepared.
Mrs. Winston must think that something happened between her and Ivan.
Something had already happened between her and Ivan, or else there wouldn't be four children.
Mrs. Winston's attitude was really unexpected for her.
