Chapter 894
Haley dragged herself up and shut the balcony window.
She shuffled to the bathroom, flicked on the light, and stared at her reflection. Her tanned face was splattered with blood, and her white camisole was a mess of red stains.
Her eyes were bloodshot, hair all over the place—she looked like she'd just crawled out of hell. How did it come to this?
She splashed cold water on her face, finally feeling a bit more clear-headed.
Back in the bedroom, she swapped out the sheets and duvet cover. Only then did she pull out the metal earring and start examining it.
It was just like the one she got before, and the command program inside was pretty much the same too.
Haley leaned against the headboard, sleep nowhere in sight. Martin was a demon, and tonight was just the beginning.
She'd hurt him, and he'd definitely come back even nastier.
Haley got out of bed and wandered to the door of the next bedroom. It was already 2 a.m., and the night light downstairs cast a dim glow. Her emotions were hard to read in the low light.
She paced in front of Ivan's room. After what felt like forever, she finally grabbed the doorknob, pushed the door open, and walked in.
Almost as soon as she stepped in, Ivan sat up in bed, super alert. His hand was just reaching for the weapon under his pillow when he realized who it was.
"Haley, what are you doing here?" Ivan got out of bed and pulled her into a tight hug. He was startled, "Why are you so cold?"
Haley shook her head, snuggling into his arms for warmth.
She'd been so scared she broke out in a cold sweat, then washed her face with cold water. Even with the heating on, she couldn't shake the chill that had settled deep inside her.
She wrapped her arms around Ivan's neck, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him. Ivan instinctively tried to pull away.
Haley cupped his face, her voice hoarse and dry, "Ivan, I need you."
That one sentence broke down Ivan's defenses. He tightened his grip on her waist and kissed her deeply. They kissed until they were breathless, collapsing together onto the soft, plush bed.
Ivan held her close and whispered, "Haley, we can't go further. I'm scared you'll..."
"Don't be scared, I'm not scared at all." Haley kissed his thin lips, her voice filled with desperation, "Ivan, I need you."
Only the close physical contact could chase away her fear; she didn't want to think about any consequences.
Ivan responded to her. They'd been living under the same roof but apart for more than half a month. Once the desire was unleashed, it was unstoppable like a flood.
The moment their bodies pressed together, Haley's whole body stiffened.
Her body and brain were controlled by the chip, but her voice was still her own, "Honey, don't stop, keep going... I can do it..."
Ivan held her tightly, his eyes locked on every change in her expression. Haley was clearly restraining herself, clearly trying to fight against the voice in her head.
