Chapter 901

Ivan stood by the bed, peeling off his suit jacket with those long, distinct fingers of his. He started unbuttoning his shirt, one button at a time, showing off that chiseled chest.

Haley gulped silently.

Last night, Ivan had been holding back, always watching her reactions. Tonight, though, he might not be able to keep it together.

"Haley, I love you." Ivan leaned over her, his whole body covering hers. His thin lips started kissing down from her forehead.

His kisses were like fire, burning their way to her heart, making Haley's toes curl up without her even realizing it.

When their bodies pressed close, Haley noticed that the mechanical woman's voice had finally shut up.

No matter how close she got with Ivan, no matter how much she gave in to the moment, there'd be no voice to mess with her.

Haley had no clue when the wild night ended. She was so wiped out that her bones felt like they might fall apart, and she drifted off to sleep, totally spent.

Ivan wasn't much better off; he was drenched in sweat, having let go of all his worries and anxieties from the past few days.

Afterwards, he held Haley in his arms and crashed into a deep sleep.

The night got deeper. Haley suddenly opened her eyes.

In the dead of night, she couldn't see a thing in the dark bedroom.

She moved a bit, and Ivan woke up too, his voice all hoarse, "What's up?"

"I'm going downstairs to get some water."

Ivan sat up right away. "I'll get it for you."

"I also need to hit the bathroom, so I'll go myself."

Haley pushed Ivan back onto the bed, lifted the covers, and got up.

She threw on a jacket, slipped on her shoes, quietly opened the door, and stepped out, gently closing it behind her.

As soon as the door clicked shut, her expression turned icy.

In the middle of the night, Martin had unexpectedly issued her a command. Even though she was out cold, the command had woken her up.

"Go out, turn left, and walk three hundred feet." The voice replayed in her mind over and over.

Haley slowly walked downstairs, put on a down jacket, and quietly opened the front door.

The winter night in Watertown was freezing, like 14 degrees Fahrenheit. As soon as she stepped out, Haley shivered from the cold.

She climbed over the yard wall and walked slowly. Before she even hit three hundred feet, she saw a dark figure at the end of the road.

The shadows of the trees danced, casting creepy patterns on the figure's shoulders, making him look like a demon straight outta hell.

Haley stopped in her tracks and coldly asked, "What do you want me to do?"

"Didn't expect you to have some skills after all." Martin sneered and walked towards her.

Haley wanted to step back, but a command in her mind stopped her. She could only stand still and watch as Martin got closer.

Her chin was suddenly grabbed by Martin, his grip so tight it felt like her jawbone might shatter.

"The chip code I meticulously designed was modified just like that. Your son really impressed me."

Haley glared at him angrily. "You're spying on me?"

"I'm not just spying on you; I'm controlling you, turning you into a puppet!" Martin's face twisted with rage. "I originally wanted to play this game with you slowly, but that kid is too smart. I can't afford to gamble."

Haley clenched her jaw, holding back her anger.

"I said I'd give you three days to think about it, so you only have three days. You better be ready."
