Chapter 712
Isabel had only seen Leonardo's face once, but his features were burned into her memory.
The two kids in front of her had eyes, noses, and lips almost identical to his.
She thought, ‘Could they be Leonardo's secret kids?’
A wave of hostility washed over Isabel.
Todd and Keith acted like she wasn't even there and plopped down on the sofa.
"Who are you?" Isabel asked coldly, crossing her legs.
Keith shot back, "Who are you?"
Keith's arrogance and cold demeanor were eerily similar to Leonardo's.
Isabel took a deep breath. "I'm Leonardo's fiancée."
Before she could finish, a cold voice interrupted from behind. "Since when did I have a fiancée?"
Isabel froze.
Everyone in Hinterlands knew her father wanted her to marry Leonardo, but Leonardo had never agreed.
She only dared to call herself his fiancée behind his back.
She never thought he'd catch her in the act.
"I was just joking with the kids, Leonardo. Who are these two?" Isabel forced a smile.
Leonardo glanced at the kids, momentarily stunned.
That familiar feeling hit him again.
"You, get out," Leonardo said. "Don't come here without my permission."
Isabel was fuming.
She took several deep breaths to calm down. "I won't interfere with your work. I'll stay and play with the kids."
"I need to discuss important matters with them. If you want to play, go somewhere else," Leonardo said impatiently.
Isabel struggled to keep her face neutral.
Isabel thought, ‘How could Leonardo have serious matters to discuss with those two kids? He was clearly trying to get rid of me!’
When August was in charge, Isabel could come and go as she pleased.
She wondered why her status had diminished even further after Leonardo ascended to power.
Isabel turned on her heel, her high heels clicking as she stormed out.
Leonardo looked at Todd and Keith again. "Who's the boss of the Deross family, and who's Owen, the milk lover?"
Keith felt a hint of familiarity in Leonardo's voice but didn't dwell on it. "I am Owen."
Leonardo shook his head. "Doesn't seem like it."
The name Owen should belong to someone outgoing and lively.
Keith in front of him was mature and steady, not fitting the vibe of the name Owen.
"It's really us," Todd said calmly. "Now that we're here, can you release K?"
"How do I know you're not impostors?" Leonardo touched his chin. "Unless you can prove it."
He was almost convinced, but it was tough to believe these two four-year-olds were famous hackers from the dark web.
Todd nodded. "Got a computer? A quick test will settle this."
Leonardo signaled his men to get one ready.
