Chapter 604

" It's not even dark yet, and you can't hold back yourself anymore?" Martin's voice tinged with mockery, sarcasm, and a hint of curiosity.
If you truly love someone, you wouldn't speak to them with such a demeaning tone.
Haley's heart, already deeply sunken, felt an almost imperceptible ache.
She raised her hand and brushed Martin's arm aside, bending down to retrieve two documents from the nightstand, and tossing them over, "Sign them."
Martin's eyes narrowed, and when he read the bold titles on the cover of the documents, his expression immediately turned cold, "Why, you want a divorce?"
"I married you out of love, and I can ask for a divorce when that love fades. What's so surprising about that?" Haley's demeanor remained calm.
"Considering the impact of the divorce on the Winston Group and the children, I hope we can keep the news of our divorce private for now. We'll tell the children when they turn eight. Until then, I'll continue living in the Winston family, and upholding the facade of our marriage."
Martin sneered, "You loved me so much before, and now suddenly yousay you don't anymore. Do you honestly expect me to believe that?"
"You don't love me anymore either." Haley retorted mockingly, "You fell out of love overnight, while it took me nearly a month to detach from this relationship. In comparison, you're much colder and more heartless than I am."
Martin's face turned cold.
Haley really threw all expectations out the window.
With her status, marrying into the Winston family was a major step up, something many women could only dream of, yet Haley was ready to give it up just like that.
He didn't love and cherish her like Ivan did, so shouldn't she be trying every trick in the book to get his attention and win his love?
But instead, Haley actually proposed a divorce.
And it seemed that she’d been preparing this divorce agreement for a long time, just waiting for him to come home.
"What if I don't agree to the divorce?"
His response seemed to be within Haley's expectations.
She didn't even twitch an eyebrow and said calmly, "After the divorce, you'll be freer, You’ll have the freedom to do anything you want with other women. As long as you don't make the news and don't let the children find out, I don't care. The divorce agreement states clearly that I don't want a penny from the Winston family. The divorce has no downside for you."
"But it has no upside for me either."
Martin threw the divorce agreement on the ground, and stepped on it with his black leather shoe, leaving a gray footprint.
Haley spoke coldly, "If you don't want to sign it now, in three years, I'll file for divorce. The court will grant the divorce if a couple has been separated for more than a year, "
The bright light of the crystal chandelier in the bedroom made Haley's eyes gleam like two sharp knives.
However, she hid the sharpness of the knives well, revealing only the cold edge.
Haley had delicate features, with her rosy red lips and slender figure. Even though Martin had encountered countless beautiful women, he had to admit that Haley was a rare beauty.
Martin took a step forward and suddenly lifted Haley's chin.
He noticed a flicker of disgust in Haley's eyes.
" Do you dislike me?" Martin's voice was low as he asked slowly.
Haley smiled slightly, "It's not dislike. It's just that when I think about t your fingers on my chin now, knowing that they've also been on a dancer's chin, I feel disgusted."
Martin chuckled and said, " So you're bothered by that dancer. Let me explain, it was merely an act."
"What about the lipstick on your collar, was that just an act too??"
Haley had long told herself not to care about it, but at that moment, she couldn't help but ask such a childish question.
