Chapter 1009
The plane skimmed through the clouds and landed at Watertown Airport.
"Finally arrive!" Nicole exclaimed with excitement. "Micah, take me out for a walk later. I heard there's a place in Watertown..."
"Go by yourself," Micah frowned. "First, let's go to the apartment and drop off our luggage. After that, you can do whatever you want."
Nicole pouted. "My mom instructed you to take good care of me. How can you just leave me alone?"
Micah glanced at her. "Camilla and I are here in Watertown for serious business. What are you here for? Don't get in our way."
Nicole dragged her suitcase and walked ahead. Micah shook his head helplessly.
Nicole had been causing trouble since she was a child, and her knack for getting into mischief was no less than Brady's.
He really didn't understand why Samantha agreed to let Nicole come along to Watertown.
Camilla smirked and said calmly, "She's already an adult who needs to learn to take responsibility for herself. Micah, you don't need to worry too much about her."
The Jenkins family had purchased an apartment in Watertown years ago, a three-bedroom unit, just right for the three of them.
This apartment was in downtown Watertown. From the window, one could see the charming and dazzling night view of Watertown.
Nicole sat on the balcony, full of amazement. She always thought that the Jenkins family was wealthy and powerful, a prominent family.
It wasn't until she arrived in Watertown that she realized the Jenkins family was nothing. Even the lowest-ranked families here could easily overshadow the Jenkins family.
The Reynolds family, once the top family in Brussville, now seemed insignificant to her.
Nicole was about to speak when she saw Camilla take out an evening gown from her suitcase and hang it on a rack to iron.
"Camilla, why did you bring an evening gown?"
Camilla replied calmly, "I've been invited to an expo tonight."
"I've never been to a business banquet in Watertown. Camilla, how about taking me with you?" Nicole quickly moved closer. "Don't worry, I won't embarrass you. Just take me along."
Camilla pulled her arm free from Nicole's grip. "I'll take you to a charity banquet next time. Not tonight."
Bringing Nicole to a formal business banquet would only be a distraction.
"Then that's it," Nicole's eyes darted around. "I'll go out by myself."
She turned and walked to the living room. With Camilla's purse hanging on the wall, she secretly rummaged through it, finding an invitation. If Camilla wouldn't take her, she'd go on her own!
If Camilla could be invited to such a business banquet, as a legitimate daughter of the Jenkins family, she could certainly go too.
Nicole stuffed the invitation into her pocket, singing as she returned to her room to get ready.
After ironing her gown, Camilla went to her room to change.
It was a black and form-fitting evening gown, adorned with silver tassels that shimmered under the light, like a sparkling lake or a shattered galaxy.
Camilla, dressed in the evening gown gracefully, took a cab to the banquet venue.
Four years later, the internet and smart industries had reached unprecedented heights, attracting countless investments and attention.
This was the biennial Internet Expo, attracted renowned investors, tech pioneers, and business moguls from the industry.
As soon as Camilla appeared at the entrance, she drew countless gazes.
Her stunning features, flawless makeup, and perfect figure made her a striking sight on the red carpet.
"When did Watertown get such a beauty?"
"She's so dazzlingly beautiful like a superstar, I feel inferior."
"She must be from out of town. I've never seen her in Watertown."
"Another beautiful woman in Watertown. I wonder which rich man she'll seduce this time?"
