Chapter 740
"Daddy, I don't want to leave yet."
"Daddy, I'm not full yet."
Owen and Angela said at the same time, tears in their eyes as they looked at Leonardo.
Leonardo's cold heart melted instantly.
"Finish eating first. Take your time," he said gently.
Haley, standing nearby, was stunned.
'The kids calling him "Daddy" was one thing, but why did Leonardo actually respond? He used to doubt me. Why is he accepting them now?'
Owen tugged on Haley's clothes and whispered, "Daddy said we can call him that when no one's around."
His eyes sparkled with joy.
Owen realized how good it felt to have a dad's protection after losing it once.
Haley looked at Leonardo, who was sitting at the table, in disbelief.
Leonardo glanced back at her indifferently.
Their eyes met, and the tension was palpable.
Looking into his deep eyes, Haley seemed to understand.
Even if memories fade, the bond of blood and emotion remains.
Just then, an untimely voice interrupted.
"Philip." Brenda Powell, pretending to be Leonardo's mother, walked in. She saw three unfamiliar people in the dining room and asked, "Philip, who are they?"
Leonardo's sharp gaze swept over her. "None of your business. If you have something to say, just say it."
Brenda's heart trembled under his piercing gaze.
She didn't dare to ask about Haley and the kids. Forcing a smile, she said, "Philip, have you decided when you're going back?"
Leonardo replied coldly, "I have no plans to go back for now."
His voice was icy, unlike the tenderness he showed the kids.
Brenda hesitated but forced herself to speak, "Philip, I know your status is different now, and you probably won't go back. But your father and I are getting old, and the family business is struggling. Since you can't help us, why not have a child to take back and inherit the business? I've been here for two days and think Quillan's daughter, Miss Spencer, is nice. She doesn't mind you. Why don't you two..."
Before she could finish, she felt an even sharper gaze.
Brenda turned to see the beautiful young woman in the dining room, her cold eyes like knives.
Brenda shivered.
She remembered rumors from the villa guards about Leonardo having a mistress.
She thought, 'Could it be this woman?'
Taking a deep breath, Brenda pretended not to care and continued, "Philip, the laws here aren't strict. It's okay for a man to have a few lovers. But Miss Spencer is of high status, so you shouldn't make it too obvious."
Leonardo, losing patience, heard Brenda's words and his expression turned cold. "I've had enough. Louis, escort Ms. Powell out."
Louis quickly walked over and respectfully said, "Ms. Powell, please."
Brenda already found it difficult to cope with Leonardo alone, and with Haley present as well, she didn't dare stay any longer.
