"Every time Marcus drinks, he turns into a monster. I've been beaten by him so many times at the Miller Villa. The rest of the Miller Family just stand there and watch, except for my son. But last night, Haley stepped in," Barbara said with a bitter smile. "Haley and I don't really get along, but when Marcus went after me, she was the first to stand up for me.

"Mommy, put on this blanket." Keith brought a light blanket and draped it over her shoulders.
Haley patted his head. "I've been neglecting you lately. Are you a bit scared of me?"
