Chapter 594
Keith stood by his side and spoke slowly.
Todd averted his gaze. "Keith, don't you find it strange? Dad is clearly in Watertown, so why doesn't he come home? I know he's busy, but wasn't he busy before? Why haven't we seen Dad since they got married?"
Keith lowered his eyelids.
In fact, Keith had felt that things were strange a long time ago, but he didn't dare to say it. He was afraid that Todd and Angela would be disappointed in Ivan, and he was afraid that Haley would move out of the Winston family.
Keith mimicked Brenda's attitude, acting as if nothing had happened, as if Ivan was still the same as before.
"Keith, if Dad bullies Mommy, he'll have me to deal with." Todd clenched his fist and said, "I trust him so much and entrusted Mommy to him, but he... "
Todd closed his eyes, suppressing the coldness in his eyes.
"Todd, calm down." Keith patted Todd's back. "From what I know about Dad, he will never let Mommy down. And you trusted Dad before, so it means that Dad did well. No one can suddenly change so much so soon. Maybe something big really happened at work?"
"I want to go to the Winston Group," Todd said calmly.
"I'll go with you." Keith threw the toy in his hand to the ground and brushed off the sand on his body.
Todd pursed his lips and nodded gently.
Just as they came out of the sandbox, Owen ran over and said, "Keith! Todd! Where are you going?"
"To the company office," Keith said lightly. "You stay at home and play with Angela."
"To the company office?" Owen's eyes lit up. "Are you going to the Winston Group building? Dad is there too, right? I haven't seen Dad for a long time. I want to go with you too!"
"I miss Dad, I want to go too!" Angela leaned over and said pitifully.
She hadn't seen Ivan for so long that she almost forgot what Ivan looked like.
Seeing the anticipation in Angela's eyes, Todd said gently, "Okay, let's go together."
"We can't let Mommy know," Keith whispered. "It's the weekend today, let Mommy rest at home."
Owen nodded vigorously, "I’ll go tell Mommy that we want Alfred to take us out for a walk."
After saying that, he ran into the flower hall.
Haley soon led Owen out with a gentle smile and said, "I don't have any work to do today, I'll take you out to play."
"Mommy, we don't need you to!" Owen coaxed. "We just want Alfred to take us out."
Todd obediently said, "Mommy, rest assured, we'll be back soon."
"I'll take care of my younger siblings." Keith said responsibly.
Angela licked her lips. "Alfred will buy me ice cream."
The implication was that if Haley took them out to play, there would be no ice cream.
Haley was defeated by this reason.
She hugged the four children and helped them get into the car, fastening their seat belts, and then waved goodbye.
The car sped away, and the children in the car all had serious expressions.
Even Owen, who was usually the least thoughtful, realized that something serious was going on.
Angela bit her lip and turned to look out the window with tears in her big eyes.
Alfred, holding the steering wheel, sighed imperceptibly.
Having lived with the family for so long, he naturally noticed Ivan's abnormal behavior earlier than the children did.
