When Angela cried, the other children were at a loss.
Keith helped her wipe her tears away and said, "Ivan will be back in half a month, and then you can be with him every day."
Todd touched Angela's hair and said, "You have Haley and us by your side, it'll be okay even if Ivan is not here."
"Angela, have a lollipop!" Owen stuffed a strawberry-flavored lollipop into Angela's mouth. "How is it? Is it sweet?"
Angela smiled through her tears and said, "It’s so sweet!"
Haley forced a smile.
In the world of children, things were so simple; a piece of candy could dispel all gloom.
But the adult world was always so complicated.
Haley sat on the sofa, debating whether to send a message to remind Ivan to call Angela once he arrived at his destination.
If Angela couldn't see Ivan for half a month, she would really be anxious.
Haley searched through her contacts, found Ivan's name, and was about to send a message when her finger suddenly paused.
How could she forget? Ivan had told her last night that his phone had fallen into a fire and he had gotten a new number.
Today, she had forgotten to ask for Ivan's new number.

But Haley didn't receive any calls from Ivan by the next morning.
Haley saw the four children playing carefreely in the yard. Todd was smiling more happily than he had ever had in the past four years.
Todd was sensitive. If he found out there was trouble between Haley and Ivan, he would surely revert to his cold demeanor.
Haley composed herself and went downstairs to bid the children farewell. "I have to go to the office today to handle work. I'll be back later to have dinner with you."
"Bye, Mommy."
"Come back early, Mommy."
"I'll miss you, Mommy!"
"Goodbye, Mommy!"
After saying goodbye to the four children, Haley drove to the office.
She had always been a rational person. She had never let her personal emotions affect her work or disrupt her normal work routine.
Lately, Star Technical Company had been in the process of merging with the DeRoss Group.
The DeRoss Group had been around for over twenty years, and had a large company structure, diverse business operations, and several factories. Star Technical Company, on the other hand, was a new and small company. The merger of the two companies was proving to be quite challenging, and Haley had been busy handling the work related to that these days.
"Haley, Hollis is here!" Ariana rushed into the office, lowering her voice. "Hollis is here with Ava. I'm not sure why they're here. If you don't want to see them, I can just turn them away."
