Chapter 967
That necklace vanished from the auction house once Ellen hit it big.
Nowadays, fifty million bucks was a lowball figure, and even with a fortune, it remained unattainable.
"So, you're saying this necklace was on Camilla's neck?" Ellen asked softly, holding up the necklace.
Samantha nodded. "Her background isn't simple. In all of Brussville, only the heir of the Reynolds Family is a match for her."
Ellen drummed her fingers on the table, deep in thought.
She had originally wanted her son Bradley to marry a rich girl from Watertown, but the elite circles there looked down on people from Brussville.
She'd never managed to break into Watertown's elite circles.
If Bradley couldn't marry a wealthy girl from Watertown, he'd have to find someone of similar status in Brussville.
Sure, Camilla's status as an adopted daughter of the Jenkins Family was slightly diminished, but anyone who could wear the Heart of the Ocean wasn't just anybody.
"How do I know you're not lying to me?" Ellen asked calmly.
Samantha closed the sandalwood box and smiled. "I just want to help Camilla find her real parents. But if Mrs. Reynolds isn't interested, then forget it. I'll take Camilla to Watertown someday and find her a rich young master there."
Ellen thought for a moment. "I need to think about this."
"I don't agree." A cool voice came from the doorway.
Camilla walked through the corridor and stood in front of the two women. "Until I remember everything, I don't plan on getting married. Mother, please stop worrying about me."
Ellen squinted, studying Camilla closely.
She'd seen Camilla before, the adopted daughter of the Jenkins Family, but had never paid much attention to her because of her status.
But today, Camilla looked like a goddess, mainly because of the powerful aura she exuded.
The coldness in her eyes made it hard to look directly at her. Someone with such an aura couldn't be a nobody.
Various thoughts raced through Ellen's mind, and she smiled slightly. "You must be Camilla."
Camilla responded calmly, "Yes."
Her attitude was neither humble nor arrogant, like someone looking down on others.
It seemed Samantha wasn't lying.
"You should come visit our Reynolds Mansion sometime. Bradley has mentioned you to me."
"Bradley?"
Camilla was suddenly taken aback. Why did that name sound so familiar?
"That's Bradley Reynolds from the Reynolds Family," Samantha reminded her.
Camilla fell silent.
"Bradley is twenty-eight, young and successful. Lots of girls in Brussville want to marry him, but he shows no interest. He's mentioned your name to me several times," Ellen said with a smile. "Camilla, are you free tomorrow? I'll have Bradley come over and take you to the Reynolds Mansion for lunch."
