Chapter 1012

Camilla walked slowly through the banquet hall with a wine glass in hand, heading towards the balcony. Once she was out of everyone's sight, she slipped through a side door into the lounge.

This was the highest-grade lounge, leaving no one at the entrance.

Ivan, sitting on the sofa, looked at her. "I thought you wouldn't come."

"Mr. Winston, you are the most prominent figure here. I don't want to become the enemy of every woman in Watertown." Camilla walked in and sat on the sofa farthest from Ivan. "Mr. Winston, if you have something to say, just say it directly."

Ivan swirled his wine glass, his eyes greedily fixed on her. "You don't seem to be afraid of me at all."

"Mr. Winston, like everyone else, you have a pair of eyes and a mouth. Why should I be afraid of you?" Camilla's expression was indifferent. "If Mr. Winston has nothing else to say, I'll take my leave."

Ivan sighed imperceptibly in his heart.

What was the greatest distance in life? It was when they looked at each other, but she didn't know he loved her, and she didn't know she once loved him so deeply.

"Have a cup of coffee before you go."

Ivan snapped his fingers lightly, and a girl in a pink princess dress came out carrying coffee.

Camilla was instantly stunned. Wasn't this the genius piano girl Angela she met in Brussville that day?

What was she doing here? Camilla's gaze shifted between Ivan and Angela, and she suddenly understood.

Angela was Ivan's daughter; their facial features were just too similar. Why would Ivan's daughter call her mommy?

"Miss Jenkins, please have some coffee." Angela's voice choked as she slightly bent over to place the coffee on the table.

Camilla looked at her. "Why are you so sad?"

"I thought of my Mommy." Angela said in a muffled voice. "Miss Jenkins, I'm sorry, I was rude to you last time." As she spoke, tears streamed down her cheeks continuously.

An hour ago, her daddy had told her that the paternity test results, which proved Camilla from Brussville was her Mommy, Haley!

But her daddy had instructed her not to recognize her Mommy for now. She could only ask her daddy to arrange a meeting with her Mommy.

Once she saw her Mommy, she could only call her Miss Jenkins. Her heart felt like it was being cut into countless pieces by a knife.

Angela's tears fell, landing on Camilla's hand.

The scalding tears, the burning temperature, seemed to scorch Camilla's heart. She suddenly felt a pang of sorrow.

"Don't cry." Camilla held Angela in her arms. "If your Mommy knew you were this sad, she would be even more heart-broken."

Angela sniffled. "Okay, I won't cry." She said that, but the tears flowed even more fiercely.

Unwilling Camilla to feel sad when she recalled this scene in the future, Angela covered her mouth tightly and ran out of the lounge.

Camilla was affected, and her lips pressed tightly together.

After a long while, she finally looked up at Ivan. "May I ask about the mother of your child?"
