Chapter 441
Owen counted the advantages of his father with his fingers.
Ivan gave a pointed cough, signaling an end to the conversation. "That's enough. There's no need to spell everything out."
Haley stood there in silence, puzzled. Was he actually conceding to Owen's outrageous claims? Why couldn't she shake the feeling that despite everything, this man didn't harbor any affection for her?
There might be some liking, but it should be in that aspect. After all, he had never concealed his interest in her body.
Haley cleared her throat and said, "Owen, my car tire was punctured. Does this have anything to do with you?"
Owen shook his little head. "It wasn't me! It has nothing to do with me!"
Ivan's aura turned cold.
Haley glanced at him sideways, and Ivan withdrew his chilling aura and took a few steps to the side.
"Owen, I want to hear the truth," Haley spoke seriously. "Even if it was you, I won't blame you, but I want to hear the truth."
Owen blinked his eyes. "If I lie, will you not like me anymore?"
"No matter what you look like, I like you, but..." She had a serious expression. "If you have a habit of lying, I will be very disappointed. I don't want you to be that kind of child."
Owen lowered his head. "I'm sorry, Mom. I was wrong..."
His voice became somewhat choked. "I don't want you to leave. I didn't want to be separated from you, so I secretly punctured the tire. I was wrong, I really was wrong..."
"It's okay. It's good that you know your mistake." Haley patted his hair. "But you can't do this kind of thing again, okay?"
Owen nodded vigorously.
Haley gently held him in her arms.
Ivan's thoughts were extremely complicated at the scene before him.
In the past, whenever Owen made a mistake, no matter how he asked, this kid would never admit it. In the end, it usually ended with him punishing Owen by making him stand at attention.
This was the first time he had seen this kid admit his mistake obediently.
"Mom, I, I also did something wrong..." Owen blinked nervously. "If I confess voluntarily, will you forgive me?"
Haley's face still had a gentle smile. "Of course."
"I... I was just in Dad's room," he mumbled, his left foot scuffing the ground nervously. "I... I had an accident on Dad's bed, and, in the closet too..."
Haley barely caught the confession. "What was that? What exactly did you do in your father's bed and closet?"
Alfred, sensing the brewing storm, discreetly took a step back, ready to make a swift exit from the impending fallout.
"I peed on Dad's bed," Owen said, closing his eyes and saying in despair.
Haley was shocked. "Isn't there a bathroom? Why did you pee on your dad's bed?"
"I, I..." Owen felt a strong sense of danger and almost cried. "Alfred just put some dust on Dad's bed. I didn't think it was a big deal, and I happened to need to pee, so..."
Ivan's face turned very dark.
He had a deep cleanliness obsession. If the bed was peed on, he didn't want that room anymore.
Haley's mouth twitched as she glanced at Alfred. "Why did you put dust on the bed?"
Alfred had never felt so embarrassed before.
Why did he do such a thing at his age?
