Chapter 686

At that moment, Katherine's phone vibrated. She glanced at the caller ID, a glimmer of hope flashing in her eyes.

She quickly answered the call, "Hello, Martin."

"Katherine, you have ten minutes to get to the Winston Group to see me!"

The call was abruptly cut off.

Katherine's face turned pale at Martin's chilling tone, but she dared not disobey.

Katherine quickly went downstairs and hailed a cab to the Winston Group.

As soon as she arrived at the entrance, she felt the strange looks from all directions, as if countless people were looking down on her.

"Look, she's the mistress."

"The third party between Mr. Winston and Mrs. Winston."

"How dare she still have the nerve to come to the Winston Group?"

"If she had any dignity, she wouldn't have chosen to be a mistress!"

Amidst the loud gossip, Katherine quickly walked into the elevator.

She bit down hard on her molars to keep herself from breaking down.

She became famous at a young age. She was a globally renowned psychologist who had once treated princesses in royal families, earning a highly esteemed reputation.

She had always been a respected figure, but because of Haley's deliberate act in front of the media, she had fallen from grace and become a pariah!

Katherine took a deep breath and stepped out of the elevator.

As soon as she reached the CEO's office door, a hand suddenly pulled her inside, and then her neck was gripped tightly.

"Help!"

Katherine's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at Martin in front of her.

She struggled violently, but the oxygen gradually ebbed away, and the feeling of suffocation washed over her like a tide. Her body slowly went limp.

For the first time, she tasted the flavor of death.

Martin coldly released Katherine.

Katherine fell onto the carpet, gasping for air.

"Speak, what did Haley talk to you about yesterday!"

Katherine clutched her neck and struggled to speak, "She told me not to see you again. She forbade me from causing trouble for the children. That's all."

Martin violently lifted his leg and kicked her.

Katherine flew like an autumn leaf, crashing heavily against the wall.

She had seen Martin attack others before, but she had been a bystander then and didn't feel much.

But now, she was the miserable victim.

Katherine had always thought that no matter how cold and heartless Martin was, he should have some special feelings for her.

But she was wrong, laughably wrong. In Martin's eyes, she was no different from those who opposed him.

She was afraid that if this wasn't the Winston Group but some dark place without legal constraints, Martin would have killed her just now.

Recalling Haley's warning about urging her to leave Watertown promptly, Katherine now understood why Haley had said those words.

"Katherine, you have one last chance. If you don't speak, you will cease to exist in this world."

Martin sat in his chair, looking down at Katherine as if she were a dead dog.

"Martin, I was also forced into a corner by Haley. She deliberately set me up." Katherine cried bitterly. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have told her you sent Ivan to Hinterlands. She doesn't believe Ivan is dead. She must be going there to find him!"

"Get out!"

Martin kicked Katherine away.

His eyes were as cold as ice. "Robert, come in!"

Robert, not knowing what had happened, hurriedly pushed the door open and entered.
