Chapter 730
Leonardo's hand on Haley's waist froze.
They'd just shared an intimate moment, and she mentioned her husband in that affectionate tone.
It made him uncomfortable, but she was married, and he was her lover.
Leonardo felt this relationship was wrong; he never thought he'd be with a married woman.
He was deeply involved but feared she'd go back to her husband.
He didn't think he was worse than her husband, but whenever she mentioned him, her eyes softened.
He could tell that Haley loved her husband a lot.
Leonardo couldn't deny that.
"My husband is about your height and build, and he has a blue birthmark on his lower abdomen like you. Your voices are almost identical."
Haley spoke softly, but her phone suddenly vibrated on the pillow.
She picked it up; it was a video call from the kids.
Haley was startled, quickly got out of bed, dressed hurriedly, grabbed her phone, and rushed into the bathroom.
Watching her leave, Leonardo's eyes darkened.
He thought, 'Did she become my lover because I look like her husband?'
That seemed to be the only explanation.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Leonardo put on his shirt and suit, leaned against the bed, and said calmly, "Come in."
A group of people entered, with two leaders, Donovan Bell and Eli Carter, who looked pleased. "We found your family, as you asked."
Leonardo immediately looked back.
Here came in two people around sixty, crying.
"Philip, we finally found you."
The woman, tears streaming down her face, grabbed Leonardo's hand.
The man stood by the bed, looking sorrowful. "Your name is Philip Powell, our only son. You went missing six months ago, and we've been searching everywhere for you. We finally found you."
Looking at them, Leonardo felt nothing.
The name Philip Powell didn't ring a bell.
But Donovan and Eli weren't from Quillan's faction; they couldn't be lying.
"Philip, these are your childhood photos, and this is a school group photo..." The woman showed a bunch of photos. The face in the old photos did resemble Leonardo.
"Our family has been in the lumber business for decades and has considerable wealth. Come back with us," the man said solemnly. "This place is too dangerous; you shouldn't be here. Come, we'll take you home."
Leonardo said calmly, "Let's do a paternity test first."
Donovan quickly handed over a document. "We've already done the test. We only brought them here after confirming they are your biological parents."
"Philip, are you doubting us?" the woman said tearfully. "You've only been missing for six months; how could I not recognize my own son? The scar on your face is no big deal; we'll find a doctor to remove it once we get back."
Leonardo looked at the two people claiming to be his parents, his heart unmoved.
