Chapter 357

"I'll drive you home," Ivan said, opening the car door gently.

Haley smiled faintly and shook her head. "I drove here. I'll be fine going back on my own," she said.

Ivan suddenly leaned in close to her ear. "Don't forget, I'm your boyfriend now. It's only right for a boyfriend to take his girlfriend home."

Haley's thoughts drifted to the words this man had said to Mrs. Winston just before. Her ears turned red, and she smiled, "But what about my car?"

Ivan called a bodyguard to follow Haley in her car while he drove her and her two children home.

He took his time, driving slowly, and a half-hour later, they arrived at their destination.

Haley, carrying her children out of the car, politely thanked him: "Thank you for the ride, Mr. Winston. Goodbye."

Todd waved his little hand. "Goodbye, Mr. Winston."

"Bye, Daddy," Angela cooed softly.

The moment Angela called him 'daddy,' the composure Haley struggled to maintain began to crumble.

If it had not been for Ivan's earlier confession in front of Mrs. Winston, she might have been able to face this man with indifference.
But he said he liked her.

"Can't I come in for a bit?" Ivan suddenly spoke up, "After such a long drive, I'm kind of thirsty."

Haley was speechless.

Wanting to enter a single woman's house in the dead of night—wasn't his intention too obvious?

Just as she was about to decline, she saw her little sweetheart already holding Ivan's hand and heading into the house.

With a helpless shrug, she followed them inside.

By now, it was nine o'clock in the evening, a time when Angela was usually drifting off to sleep.

After changing her shoes, Haley said, " Mr. Winston, please have a seat. I'll bathe Angela. She's normally asleep by now."

She dared not look into the man's eyes and carried the little girl upstairs to the bathroom.

Todd took a book and sat on the couch, his expression unreadable, giving nothing away.

Ivan glanced at the book's cover and frowned. "You haven't given up on becoming a hacker?"

The book was about advanced hacking, which is usually understood only by graduate students in the field. It was hard to imagine that this four-year-old child was engrossed in it.

"I find hacking quite fascinating," Todd remarked, his eyes still fixed on the screen before him. "There's a lot you can accomplish under the radar."

Hisopinion was slightly unsettling.

After all, history is riddled with tales of hackers whose fleeting lapses in judgment led them astray.

Ivan's gaze sharpened, a hint of concern lacing his tone. "And what exactly are you planning to do unnoticed?"
Todd pressed his lips together, "I can't tell you that."

He bowed his head and continued to flip through the book, reading quickly, but clearly understanding it.

Ivan rested his chin on his hand, eyes narrowed.

If he could actually make it work with Haley, Todd would become his son.

And as a child of the Winston family, he'd need proper guidance to prevent him from becoming a wanted hacker online someday.

But now wasn't the time for that.

Before long, Haley had finished bathing Angela.

The little girl was wrapped in a towel, a pink cloth enveloping the freshly bathed bundle of soft sweetness, making everyone felt adorable

Ivan stood up to go upstairs, "Angela, how about I tell you a story?"

The little girl's eyes sparkled with excitement, and she reached up to hug Ivan's neck.
