Chapter 783
At dusk, Haley and Ivan arrived at the Winston family villa.
Ivan wheeled in two suitcases as Haley supported his arm. Upon reaching the yard, they found Pitt had arrived ahead of them.
"Ivan, can you take the luggage upstairs and put the clothes in the closet? I have something to do," Haley said with a smile.
Ivan nodded, carrying two suitcases upstairs. Haley's clothes were in the main bedroom, while the children's were in theirs.
Haley turned to look at the playroom, where Brenda was building blocks with four children, who seemed very happy.
She walked over and said, "Mrs. Winston, can we talk?"
Brenda paused with a block in her hand, then forced a smile and walked out of the playroom. "Haley, how's your face?"
"The doctor said it will recover in a week, nothing serious," Haley said calmly. "Mrs. Winston, I think you should know that Ivan has lost his memory."
Haley's address of Brenda as "Mrs. Winston" felt like a stab to Brenda's heart.
Brenda could only try to ignore the issue of the address and said softly, "Keith has already told me about it. I'll find a professional doctor to check on Ivan."
"Ivan's memory was erased by Katherine," Haley said, pursing her lips. "Has Katherine contacted you recently?"
Brenda was stunned.
Then she breathed a sigh of relief. "Since it's Katherine, it can be resolved."
She had known Katherine for many years, and Katherine would be willing to listen to her.
Brenda took out her phone and made a call. "Yes, come to the Winston family villa. I have something to discuss with you."
After hanging up, Brenda walked over and said, "She will come by at nine tonight."
Haley nodded. "Thank you."
Brenda said, "This is about Ivan, which means it's about me too. No need to thank me." Then she hesitated before finally asking, "Haley, please tell me, what happened to Martin?"
The gratitude in Haley's eyes instantly vanished. She said coldly, "Mrs. Winston, do you really want to know about Martin? What if I told you that Martin got what he deserved and he's already dead?"
Brenda trembled, tears streaming down her face. "No, it's impossible. Ivan said he would never harm Martin."
"Since Ivan has already told you, why do you need to ask me?" Haley said indifferently. "Martin wanted to kill Ivan. He always wanted to kill Ivan. If Martin comes back, what will you choose this time?"
Haley's question left Brenda speechless.
Brenda's tears fell silently down her cheeks. She remained silent for a long time.
She couldn't bear to lose either of them.
Haley looked at Brenda with disappointment and went upstairs.
As she stood at the door to calm herself, she saw Ivan struggling to fold clothes.
Ivan's fingers were long and muscular, with distinct joints, but he always managed to make a mess when folding clothes.
Haley couldn't help but laugh.
Ivan coughed awkwardly. "It is too hard to fold these clothes. I'll just hang them in the closet."
He took a hanger and hung up the clothes.
Haley walked in and took over the clothes from his hands. "You should go handle the company's affairs. You've been away for over a month; who knows what kind of mess the company is in."
"As for the past, my mind is a blank," Ivan said without any concealment. "I need some time to adapt to being the CEO of the Winston Group."
