Barbara kicked the coffee table in frustration, almost spitting blood in anger.

Haley remained cold. "What's the relationship between my mother and Cauth?"
"Exes," May mocked, "It's just that back then, the Sterlingez family wasn't up to par with the Lumi Family, so your mom was abandoned by Cauth and had to marry Mr. DeRoss in the end."
"Shut up!"
Steven walked over at some point.
He glared at May, angrily saying, "You're of a certain age. Why are you bringing up these long-past matters in front of the child?"
Then, he turned around, speaking kindly, "Haley, don't listen to your aunt's nonsense. Your mom and Cauth were just ordinary friends back then, nothing more."
"I understand, Uncle Steven. It's all in the past, no need to delve into it."
Haley smiled lightly, looking relaxed.
But as soon as she entered the bathroom, she searched for Cauth's name on her phone.
