Chapter 951
"I love Mommy the most. I'm not scared of you at all," Keith said, trying to be the perfect kid. "Mommy, you must be super stressed with all that work. I was checking out some honeymoon spots yesterday, and Tropical Haven Island looks awesome. How about you and Daddy go there to chill?"
Haley paused for a sec and then nodded. "Sure, can you set it up for us?"
"Absolutely," Keith said, buzzing with excitement. "A honeymoon usually lasts a whole month. Besides Tropical Haven Island, you can hit up some other cool places too. I'll dig up more info."
With a burst of energy, he grabbed his laptop and started diving into travel sites, jotting down notes, and planning out a killer honeymoon itinerary.
Haley glanced out the window at Angela and Owen, who were having a blast building a snowman, and sighed again.
She thought how amazing it would be if she was healthy and their family of six could always be this happy.
"Mrs. Winston, breakfast is ready." Alfred came in with breakfast, all respectful. It was a bowl of pasta made by Ivan himself, with beef and eggs, looking and smelling delicious.
Haley took a bite. The taste was getting better. Ivan had a knack for everything; he could whip up a simple bowl of pasta in a hundred different ways.
She put a piece of beef in her mouth. Suddenly, her stomach churned. She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom.
"Mrs. Winston," Alfred followed her, standing at the bathroom door, looking worried. "Do you have a stomachache?"
Haley had gone for a walk in the cold last night, which might be the reason.
Haley didn't throw up, but when she got back to the dining table, she had lost her appetite.
"Mrs. Winston, should I ask the kitchen to make some porridge?" Alfred asked.
Haley waved her hand. "No need, I'm almost full. Don't tell Ivan about this."
Ivan had been dealing with online drama since early morning and still found time to make her breakfast. He'd probably worry even more over this small thing.
Haley put on a down jacket and went outside to play in the snow with Owen and Angela.
"Angela, check out the snowman I made! It's awesome!" Owen said proudly. "Your rabbit is too small; I could crush it with one step."
Angela shot back, "Rabbits are so cute, a hundred times cuter than your snowman!"
"My snowman could eat your little rabbit in one bite," Owen said, making a fierce face.
Angela bent down, grabbed a handful of snow, and threw it at him. "I'm gonna knock down your snowman!"
Owen's snowman was pretty rough, with its neck and body barely holding together. As Angela's snowball hit it, the snowman's head and body fell apart at the neck.
Haley couldn't help but laugh.
"Mommy, you're laughing!" Owen stomped his foot. "Angela is bullying me now!"
Owen couldn't do anything to Angela. He had spoiled her so much that she was becoming more and more unruly.
Angela made a face and hid behind Haley.
Haley looked at the fallen snowman, its white head and body separated. Even though everything was covered in white snow, she seemed to see a hint of red.
It was the blood flowing from Hollis's head after being hit, the blood Marcus spat out after being kicked onto the road.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Angela's soft hand grabbed Haley's clothes and gently tugged.
Haley snapped out of her strange mood, smiled gently, and said, "Nothing, you keep playing. I've got some work to take care of."
