"But you still fell for it, didn't you?" Isabel's smile was radiant as she took another step closer, raising her hand to remove Ivan's mask.
Her wrist had barely lifted when Ivan grabbed it. "Miss Spencer, do you really think you have the upper hand here?"
Isabel smirked, "What elsecould it be?"
With over two hundred officers on her side, each armed with more than one weapon, she was confident she couldn't lose.
She chuckled lightly. "Leonardo, be my man, and I might consider sparing your life."
"And if I don't?" Ivan coldly retorted.
"If you don't, I'll tie you up, crushyour will, and torment your spirit until you give in."
Before she could finish her sentence, the roar of helicopter blades suddenly filled the air above Serenity River.
Isabel looked up to see dozens of fighter jets approaching, and the atmosphere instantly grew tense.
On the high ground to the south of Serenity River, several figures suddenly appeared.
At the forefront stood Isabella, her hair tied up high, wearing an off-white trench coat, standing out among the group of soldiers in military green.
She held a megaphone and shouted, "Members of the Black Gang, you are surrounded. Lay down your weapons and surrender immediately!"
Quillan's face changed dramatically. "It's Queen Isabella of Country Y . What is she doing here?"
"It's you?" Isabel stared at Ivan in disbelief. "You actually colluded with the Queen of Country Y. You traitor! You don't deserve to be the leader of the Black Gang!"
Before anyone could react, a shot rang out, plunging the scene into chaos.
Gunfire rang out continuously. Amid the confusion, Anthony tried to escape but was shot in the head.
Quillan looked at Isabel, who was filled with unwillingness, and gritted his teeth. "Isabel, the military of Country Y is too strong for us to fight. We need to retreat!"
They could come back and rise again later; survival was the priority now.
Isabel gave Leonardo a hateful glance. Her earlier triumph had turned into utter humiliation.
She vowed to seek revenge in the future.
Quillan grabbed Isabel with his left hand, held a gun in his right, and fought back while retreating.
Jared, standing next to Ivan, raised his gun and aimed at the back of Isabel's head.
The gunshot rang out, and the bullet whizzed through the air.
Quillan turned his head and shouted, "Isabel, get down!"
Isabel reacted a moment too late. Quillan pushed her down, and the bullet went through Quillan's head, leaving a hole.
"Dad!"
Isabel cradled Quillan's falling body, tears streaming down like a broken dam.
"Dad, wake up!"
Quillan's eyes were open, but he wasn't breathing.
"Miss, we have to go!" An officer dragged Isabel's body towards the forest. "We can't let Quillan's sacrifice be in vain. We need to preserve our strength."
Isabel was in a daze as they took her away.
Ivan narrowed his eyes and said, "Chase them down. Find Isabel and execute her on the spot!"
Isabel had strong animosity towards Haley, and Ivan would not let Isabel live.
Most of the Black Gang members had already been subdued.
