Chapter 53 A Chill in The Air
Todd clenched his fists, his young face showing an expression of frustration beyond his years.
He was just useless, unable to protect Mom, if only he could grow up faster! He pursed his lips and walked towards the ward, step by step.
But suddenly, he froze. The man walking in front of him, wasn't that Ivan? What was this man doing in the hospital? And it seemed like he was heading towards Mom's ward. Is he here specifically to visit Mom? When did Mom and this man become so close?
Ivan took long strides, and walked to the entrance of Haley's room, in just a few steps. He hadn't thought too much about coming here, but when he stood at the entrance of the room, he suddenly felt a bit inexplicable. He had no relationship with this woman at all, and coming to visit her so abruptly, what would others think? Most importantly, he had no idea why he came here in the first place.

Haley had just taken a bite of the banana, not even swallowing it, when she felt a chill. She raised her head and saw Ivan, exuding a cold air, standing at the entrance of the room. That look, as if he had crawled up from hell like a white demon left Haley choking.
"Cough, cough, cough!" She suddenly choked and started coughing violently.
Thomas hurriedly patted her back and handed her a cup of water, saying, "Haley, why are you in such a hurry to eat a banana, take it slow."
Haley keenly felt that the temperature in the room seemed to have dropped a bit again. She took a sip of water before finally swallowing the banana.
She looked up at the person at the door and calmly said, "Mr. Winston, why are you here?"
Ivan's face was as dark as the bottom of a pot. He drove half an hour to come and see her, only to find this woman flirting with another man. He should have known that a woman with her looks would definitely not lack admirers. What was the difference between his behavior and those men chasing after her?
Ivan sneered, "Ms. DeRoss, you stood me up. Shouldn't you give me an explanation?"
Haley sat up straight, somewhat surprised, and said, "Mr. Winston came all the way here just to ask for an explanation?"
