Chapter 400 A Work Proposal
Sterling nonchalantly brushed at his index finger, a casual gesture accentuated by a faint smirk playing on his lips. "Pretty much," he replied, his tone easygoing.
Haley nodded in acknowledgment, indicating her understanding of his words.
With a steady demeanor, she reached into her bag and retrieved a document, her movements purposeful. "Since it's just pretty much, it means I still have a chance," she remarked evenly, her gaze meeting Sterling's briefly. "Here is the chip design proposal I've worked on. Take a look when you have time, Sterling."
Placing the document deliberately on the conference table, Haley turned and gracefully walked away, her departure leaving a lingering presence in the room.
Sterling watched her retreating figure until she vanished into the hallway, his gaze lingering for a moment before shifting back to the document resting on the table before him.
His complexion was somewhat bronzed, his fingertips stained with the marks of labor, and his hands adorned with thick calluses—an undeniable testament to his dedication and hard work.
As he opened the file, Sterling found himself confronted with a barrage of technical jargon. Though not a technical expert himself, since assuming responsibility for the project, he had gradually begun to familiarize himself with its intricacies.
The proposal within the file outlined a rudimentary system framework; its contents sparse and rough, yet its perspective offered a novel approach, one that Sterling had not previously considered...
Faintly tapping his fingers on the table's surface, he murmured, "Mrs. Lumi's chipset proposal, bring it to me."
The assistant standing nearby promptly responded, "I'll contact Mrs. Lumi right away."

"Mrs. Lumi, Sterling from Vanguard Corporation is requesting the chip design proposal," the secretary announced respectfully as she entered the room, her head bowed in deference.
Seated in the CEO's chair, a woman in her forties with neatly styled brown hair exuded an air of refined elegance. She glanced at the calendar; indeed, today was the day of the Vanguard Corporation's bidding meeting.
As Mrs. Lumi accessed her hard drive, her hand froze abruptly. "Has anyone touched my computer?" she inquired, her tone tinged with concern.
Startled, the secretary responded, "Mrs. Lumi, without your explicit instructions, we wouldn't dare touch your computer. What seems to be the matter?"
"My proposal is missing." Mrs. Lumi's narrowed eyes betrayed her growing apprehension. "I just finished the last draft last night and saved it on the hard drive."
The secretary hurriedly came around the desk to help search, but the proposal was nowhere to be found.
The secretary glanced cautiously at Mrs. Lumi and said respectfully, "Mrs. Lumi, after you finished revising last night, I took photos for the archives. Shall we send those pictures instead?"
With a cold nod, Mrs. Lumi's tightly controlled demeanor masked the fury simmering within.

After picking up her two children, Haley's car veered off its usual route toward the Winston family estate.
With Ivan already aware that Keith and Owen were her sons, there was no longer a need for Haley to conceal her intentions.
She wanted to spend more time with her children, hoping to be with them every minute of every day.
During Ivan's hospitalization, Haley felt an urgency to strengthen her bond with the boys.
As her car came to a stop in front of the Winston family estate, Haley noticed a figure emerging from the garden.
Ivan, clad in casual attire, approached with his right hand swathed in bandages and slung around his neck, looking both comical and ridiculous.
Haley frowned. The doctor had advised Ivan to remain hospitalized for at least a week, yet here he was, discharged in under two days. It seemed he didn't prioritize his health.
As Ivan drew nearer, he bent down to assist Haley in opening the car door, his left hand supporting him as he leaned in slightly. "Have you considered my proposal from this morning?" he inquired in a hushed tone.
