"Why are you up so early?"
Alfred had just gotten up when Haley came down from upstairs.
"I'm not going to the office today. So I thought I'd get up early and make breakfast for the kids," Haley smiled, "What do you like to eat? I'll make it for you as well."
"I can handle it," Alfred was pleasantly surprised, "I'll go to the kitchen to help you."
Haley politely declined Alfred's offer and put on an apron before heading to the kitchen.
After marrying into the Winston family, she would basically cook at least one meal every day, either breakfast or dinner, And the children loved her cooking, but it it had been a long time since Ivan had eaten her food.
Haley first prepared eggs and pasta for the children, then started making breakfast for Ivan.
She made A cheese sandwich, adding a heart-shaped fried egg between the two slices of bread. "Alfred, I'm going out for a while."
Haley put the breakfast in a thermal box, got in the car, and left the villa.
Alfred sighed with relief. Previously, Ivan would stay out all night all night, and Haley didn't care at all. Their relationship was getting worse day by day.
Now that Haley was willing to make an effort, i it felt like a significant step forward.
He believed that soon, the Winston family would be filled with laughter and joy just like before.
Haley drove straight to the Winston Group building.
It was peak of the morning rush, and as soon as Haley entered the lobby of the Winston Group, she attracted many stares.
This was her first public appearance after getting married.
"Look, that's Mrs. Winston!"
"There were rumors before about Mr. Winston and Haley having relationship problems, but she's here at the company, their relationship seems fine."
"Mrs. Winston seems to have brought breakfast for Mr. Winston."
Amidst the murmurs of the crowd, Haley calmly walked towards the CEO's private elevator.
In less than a minute, the elevator reached the top floor.
Haley walked out of the elevator with the lunch box, headed straight to the office, only to find it empty with the door open.
Wasn't Ivan at work?
As Haley frowned, Kelly came over and asked "Madam, are you here to see Mr. Winston?"
Haley nodded and asked, "Where is he?"
"Mr. Winston is in a meeting ," Kelly respectfully said, "Would you like to wait in the lounge ?"
Haley glanced at her watch and said, "I'll wait here."
She walked in and took a seat at Ivan's desk.
Kelly , unsure of what to do, went to get some coffee for Haley.Other staff from the secretary department hurried over, whispering among themselves.
"Why do you think Haley suddenly came to the company?"
" To see if Mr. Winston is up to something, of course. "
" Haley must have seen the lipstick mark on Mr. Winston's collar last time, That’s probably why she's here. "
"I wonder what Mr. Winston is thinking, neglecting the beautiful Haley and fooling around with other women outside."
"Enough" Kelly said calmly with a cup of coffee in her hand, "Mind your own business and don't speak nonsense in front of Mrs. Winston!"
