Chapter 784
Ivan needed to take time to figure out the financial statements of the Winston Group and various project data.
Although Ivan was familiar with the numbers, familiarity alone couldn't handle everything, especially in business projects. A mistake in a decimal point could be significant.
He had to ensure everything was foolproof.
"Martin's people have taken over many important positions at the Winston Group ," Haley said while folding clothes. "You should go to the company and kick those thugs out."
Ivan wrapped his arms around her waist. "You don't need to worry about these things. I have my own plans."
Haley stood up straight and took off his mask, her fingers gently touching the scars on his face. "Tomorrow, I'll go with you to the plastic surgery hospital to get your face back to how it was."
"No, let's wait until your face is healed, then I'll go to the hospital," Ivan said softly.
Haley looked at him helplessly. "Can't you go to the hospital first and try it out for me, which doctor has greater expertise?"
Ivan cupped her face and planted a kiss on the bandage on her face. "Then I'll have surgery one day, and you the day after."
In short, they would bear it together.
He wouldn't be the first to get his face fixed.
Knowing she couldn't persuade Ivan, Haley had to give up.
After Haley and Ivan packed up and went downstairs, it was dinner time. Alfred had prepared a lavish meal with a table full of tasty dishes.
The kids had been in Country Y for so long, often eating bland foreign food, and they really missed Country H cuisine.
The dishes on the table were instantly devoured by everyone.
"This is so good! Our chef's cooking has improved!" Owen said with his mouth full.
Keith rolled his eyes at him. "It's the same chef as before, nothing has changed."
Angela smiled with crescent-shaped eyes. "His cooking has always been good. Owen just likes to be picky."
"Actually, Owen just wants Mom to cook," Todd said coolly. "Among us, Owen is the least considerate of Mom."
"That's not true!" Owen quickly clarified. "Mom, don't listen to Todd. I love you the most and care about you the most. When I grow up, I'll cook for you every day!"
The dining room was filled with laughter, while outside the villa, a figure paced back and forth anxiously.
Katherine, in a black dress, nervously twisted her fingers. Knowing Martin had not been in Watertown recently, she dared visit the Winston family villa.
But before entering, Katherine saw, through the glass window, a man sitting at the dining table.
'It is clearly Martin! He is back! And Haley is back too!'
The events of that day were still vivid in Katherine's mind.
Martin had beaten her half to death just because she told Haley that Ivan might still be alive.
Then, every few days, Martin would have someone beat her up. Now, her body was covered in injuries, and it hurt when she walked.
As soon as Martin returned, he had Brenda call her over. He must be planning to teach her another lesson.
Katherine shivered and turned to leave.
