Chapter 692
York tried to explain, but the guard covered his mouth and dragged him out.
His underlings were terrified. Their faces went pale, knees weak, and they quickly knelt, begging for mercy.
Leonardo stared at them coldly. "Get lost."
In this place, even the most ordinary old person had blood on their hands. Transforming the people here wasn't easy for Leonardo.
Dealing with someone like York could at least bring peace to this street for over half a month.
Leonardo picked up the fallen chair, sat down, and said calmly, "Bring me the menu."
During the recent brawl in the restaurant, the owner and waiters had all hidden in the kitchen. Now, they came out to resume operations. The owner, trembling, handed over the menu, not daring to look into Leonardo's deep eyes.
The owner had run this restaurant for over a decade. For many years, August had been the leader, killing people like ants with ruthless methods. The owner had once witnessed August dealing with prisoners of war, a scene that remained etched in his memory as a lifelong nightmare.
The person he feared the most, August, had died at Leonardo's hands.
In other words, Leonardo was even more terrifying than August.
Although Leonardo's recent new policies had brought some stability to the restaurant, who knew what evil plans Leonardo might be hatching now?
A few steps away, Haley stared blankly in Leonardo's direction.
As if driven by some unseen force, she took a step towards Leonardo.
"Haley!"
Thomas grabbed her.
"He's a bloodthirsty demon, even more terrifying than August. Don't go over there."
Those words snapped Haley back to reality.
No matter how strong this sense of familiarity was, she shouldn't know Leonardo.
Maybe she had seen Leonardo's inauguration on TV before, which was why he seemed familiar.
Haley pressed her lips and said, "He just helped me out. I should go thank him."
She really should thank him.
Plus, the Ellenstein Group still needed to work with Leonardo.
This was a chance for both sides to meet and set the stage for future dealings.
Thomas walked a step ahead of Haley, shielding her as they approached Leonardo's table.
Before they could get close, two guards blocked their way. "Stop."
Thomas halted a few feet away and said, "Mr. Windsor, thanks for helping us out earlier. We came to say thanks."
Leonardo didn't look at them and waved his hand dismissively.
The two guards pointed to the door. "The boss doesn't like anyone around while he's eating. Please leave."
Thomas wanted to say more, but Haley tugged at his sleeve.
He pressed his lips together and stayed quiet.
"Anyway, thanks, Mr. Windsor. We'll cover today's meal. We won't bother you anymore. Goodbye."
After speaking, Haley went to the counter to pay the bill before leaving the restaurant with Thomas.
Sitting at the table, Leonardo slowly turned his head, his deep eyes looking through the restaurant's glass at the two walking side by side outside.
Gripping his glass tighter, Leonardo's gaze softened a bit before he looked away.
Leonardo was from Country H, and so were those two. Was the intense familiarity because of their shared skin color and eyes?
But there were plenty of other people from Country H around here. Why hadn't he felt this kind of familiarity with them?
