Chapter 976

"Dad, I found Mom! She's in Brussville!"

Angela stopped crying and quickly pulled out her phone, showing him some photos.

Camilla's face unexpectedly entered Ivan's view.

He grabbed the phone and zoomed in, making the face clearer. Those familiar features and the softness in her eyes made his heart race.

Trying to keep his cool, he asked, "Angela, when did you take this?"

"Dad, can't you see I'm wearing the same clothes? It was today."

Ivan then noticed Haley holding Angela in the picture.

He cleared his throat. "Sorry, Angela, I got too excited. Where did you see her?"

"In Brussville," Angela said, pouting. "Mom's going by Camilla Jenkins now. She said she lost her memory. She must have amnesia."

Angela pulled out a small box from her pocket. "I got this hair from Mom. You should get a DNA test. That'll clear everything up."

Ivan held the long, smooth strand of hair, and his excitement faded.

He asked slowly, "When you saw her, did she seem different from four years ago?"

"Mom was really irritable and got angry easily before she disappeared," Angela said softly. "But today, she was super gentle, even when I messed up her dress. She didn't get mad and just comforted me."

Ivan stared at the face on the screen.

Even though there were slight differences from four years ago, he was sure she was his Haley.

But why did she have amnesia? Why had she been living as Camilla Jenkins in Brussville for four years without a word?

Did the Bio-intelligent Chip from four years ago still affect her?

If Haley had become gentle, did it mean the aftereffects had disappeared because of the amnesia?

Ivan carefully put the hair away and said calmly, "Angela, don't tell your brothers about this yet."

Angela tilted her head. "Why, Dad?"

Owen, Todd, and Keith missed Haley just as much as she did, especially Owen, who often cried and blamed himself for that night four years ago.

"They miss her too much. If we tell them, they'll rush over without thinking," Ivan said softly. "Angela, you don't want Mom to go back to how she was four years ago, do you?"

Angela's eyes widened. "No, I don't!"

Ivan patted her smooth long hair. "Me neither. Let's keep this between us for now, okay?"

Angela nodded. Ivan stood up and walked towards the bedroom.

Angela thought he was going to rest and was about to head to her room when she saw Ivan coming out with a suitcase.

"Dad, where are you going so late?"

"Brussville."

Ivan hurried down the stairs, taking three steps at a time.

Angela stayed silent.
