"Haley, I'm sorry."
Ivan tightly pursed his thin lips.
He knew that apologizing was meaningless, but he didn't know what else to say besides sorry.
Four years ago, Emily showed up at the door with two children and two paternity test reports in hand. The tests were conducted by the most authoritative paternity testing agency in Watertown, with the Winston family also having a stake.
After seeing the report, he believed everything.
Because of his misplaced trust, he had been wrong for four years.
"Haley, no matter how you scold me or hit me, I am willing to endure it. I just want to clarify one thing with you." Ivan's dark eyes looked at her. "I have never been with Emily, nor have I ever thought of marrying her. The children in her belly are definitely not mine. I will investigate this matter thoroughly."
Listening to his low, hoarse voice, Haley gradually calmed down.
She felt it was not appropriate to go out tonight, she had been out of control.
She had just interrogated this man repeatedly; she had no right to question him.
It was her who lost the two children back then, and this man raised Keith and Greer well, she couldn't blame him.
"I'm sorry," Haley said softly, "I lost control of my emotions just now, I shouldn't have lashed out at you."
Ivan looked at her and said, "No, you don't need to apologize. Anyone would be angry in such a situation; you were just venting your emotions."
Haley tightened her crimson lips. "Emily is just crazy, who knows what she might do next. We must protect the four children and not let them be harmed again."
Ivan nodded and said softly, "Let's go home first, the children must be anxious."
After getting in the car, Ivan sent a message before stepping on the gas pedal, and the car drove away from the hospital.
Emily stood at the hospital entrance, watching the car leave, a cold smile on her lips.
After three years in prison, when she came out again, she would make Haley and Ivan pay for their actions today!
"Your test results are out!" The female police officer walked in with the test report, her face dark. "You are pregnant, about a month and a half along."
A smile appeared on Emily's face.
After so many days in detention, she had already realized she was pregnant, but she didn't dare to mention it. She waited until the fetus in her belly was stable before daring to request a hospital check-up.
She was really pregnant!
She should have conceived during those nights with Jordan at the beginning.
She was extremely grateful that she hadn't taken any medication afterward.

"Let's go, back to the detention center." The female police officer put away the test report and said in a businesslike manner.
"My stomach is hurting again." Emily curled up on the bed, her face full of pain. "It really hurts."
The female police officer looked impatient.

If the female police officer forcibly took her back to the detention center, she would probably have to run to the hospital several times in one night.
