Chapter 985
"Shut up!" Nicole snapped at Brady. "You're the one always causing trouble around here, and you think you can talk to me like that?"
"Enough!" Odette cut in, clearly annoyed. "Seriously, you two are still arguing? Just shut up and go rest!"
That night, everyone crashed at the Jenkins Mansion. The next morning, Patrick took Camilla and Nicole to the hotel.
A bunch of reporters were camped out at the hotel entrance, cameras ready.
Besides the reporters, some big-shot families from Brussville were also hanging around.
Camilla quickly spotted the Reynolds, Hughes, and Coleman families not far away. They were all investors in the project.
With things going south, the Jenkins Family had to deal with the fallout alone.
Old partners met at the hotel entrance but didn't even acknowledge each other.
"When's Mr. Winston coming out?" a reporter who'd been waiting all night asked the staff.
"Mr. Winston isn't seeing anyone. He's not leaving the hotel, so you all should go."
Everyone looked bummed out hearing that.
Patrick frowned and said, "I'll go talk to the staff."
He walked over to the guy who'd spoken and said quietly, "I heard the Winston Group's new internet system in Brussville is having issues. I brought a top-notch hacker. Can we give it a shot?"
The staff member sneered. "Every family here brought a hacker. If we let everyone try, how much time would that waste for the Winston Group? We don't need you!"
Just then, the staff member saw Ivan's assistant, Luke, coming down. He quickly approached and said, "Mr. Torres, these people won't leave. Should we call in some military police?"
Luke shot him a cold look. "It's fine. Don't ruin the Winston Group's reputation."
He walked to the entrance, and the reporters swarmed him.
"Mr. Torres, how much is the Winston Group investing in Brussville this time?"
"Is the Winston Group planning to keep increasing its investment in Brussville?"
"We heard that Sawyer Jenkins, the president of the Jenkins Group, got imprisoned because of a conflict with the Winston Group. Is that true?"
Luke was just there to check things out, not to answer questions.
He scanned the crowd and suddenly froze.
With just one look, Luke realized why the super busy Ivan had come all the way to a small place like Brussville.
