Chapter 807
The doctor unwrapped Haley's face bandages as the wound had healed and no further wrapping was needed.
Haley examined her wound in the mirror; it wasn't as horrific as she had thought, though the left side of her face had healed more completely.
She gently touched her right cheek and didn't feel the stinging pain she had felt the night before.
Haley asked, "My right cheek suddenly hurts, but the left one doesn't. What's going on?"
The doctor carefully examined the wound, "The trauma on the right side is larger and deeper. It's probably still healing, which is why you feel the stinging pain. Make sure not to scratch it with your hands to avoid second infection."
"Is there any way to get rid of this stinging pain?" Haley pressed.
Last night, it seemed that her mind went blank after the stinging pain on her right cheek.
Ivan also spoke up, "Can you prescribe some painkillers?"
The doctor seriously suggested, "Painkillers are generally for major illnesses or post-surgery. Your kind of wound isn't suitable for such medication with significant side effects. It is completely bearable for the primary pain of wound healing."
The doctor's long-winded speech implied that she was afraid of pain.
She felt she was making a big deal out of nothing and said helplessly, "Then I won't take the medicine. I'll just endure it."
Ivan hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear, "Pinch me when you hurt. With me sharing the pain, it'll be halved."
Haley was amused by him, "Alright, next time I'll pinch you, and you better not complain."
After leaving the hospital, Ivan insisted on taking her to a cosmetic surgery clinic.
Since she had to go sooner or later, Haley didn't refuse.
She waited for Ivan to drive over to the entrance of the parking lot.
In just a moment, passers-by recognized Haley.
A few girls looked at Haley's face and started discussing in shock.
"Isn't this Watertown's top beauty, Haley? What happened to her face?"
"Those two scars look like worms. How did her face get ruined like this?"
"She must have offended someone and got disfigured."
Unhearing the passers-by's comments, Haley got into the car.
On arrival at the cosmetic surgery clinic, Haley's phone buzzed with a call from Cauth.
"Haley, is your face okay?"
Haley was a bit puzzled, "I'm fine, really."
"Someone took a photo of you and posted it online. Now everyone is saying you've been disfigured," Cauth said cautiously.
Haley smiled indifferently, "I do have two scars on my face, but it's nothing serious. Don't worry."
She hung up the phone and opened her social media.
Sure enough, Haley saw a photo of herself standing at the parking lot entrance waiting for the car on Twitter.
She hadn't even noticed being photographed in a front view.
The two still-healing scars were particularly striking compared to her delicate skin, and the online comments quickly exceeded ten thousand.
[Watertown's top beauty no longer looks as pretty as before. Let's vote for a new, most beautiful woman!]
[How did her face get ruined like this? What a pity.][ must have made someone jealous.]
