Chapter 140 Todd didn’t like Owen
She just couldn't understand why Owen kept pestering her...
Looking at Owen's pitiful little face, she suddenly thought of what happened last night.
Angela had sneaked out of preschool just to find Ivan.
And Owen had sneaked out of his house to find her...
But why?
Haley racked her brains but couldn't figure it out.
She brushed Owen's hair, which was full of rotten leaves and dust from the flower beds.
Resigned, she picked up the little guy: "Your daddy should be here in twenty minutes. I'll take you in for a bath first."
Ivan had bathed Angela; if she bathed Owen, they would be even.
She had just stood up when Todd followed and said indifferently, "Mommy, he should be four years old. He can bathe himself."
Owen, not wanting to let go of the comforting scent on Haley, hugged her neck tightly: "I can't bathe or undress myself, Haley, help me!"
"I'll help you."
Todd spoke up, his voice leaving no room for argument.
Haley set Owen down and said softly, "Owen, you're four years old now. You should learn how to bathe by yourself. Let Todd take you to the bathroom and teach you."
"I don't want to!" Owen clung to her wrist stubbornly. "And I'm definitely older than him, I'm the big brother!"
Todd's eyelids flickered slightly: "How old are you?"
"Four!" Owen lifted his chin. "You must be only three and a half!"
Todd continued without changing his expression: "What month were you born?"
Owen scratched his head: "I can't remember, but I'm definitely older than you!"
"If you're older but still can't bathe yourself, then we might need to consider your intelligence," Todd said flatly.
Owen puffed out his cheeks, hands on his hips, looking defiantly cute.
"My mommy says to do things for yourself. She likes independent children," Todd added.
Deflated, Owen agreed: "Fine, teach me how to bathe."
He wanted to be a sensible and well-behaved child so Haley wouldn't send him away.
He went into the bathroom on his own, and Todd followed, closing the door behind them.
With a soft bang, Owen suddenly felt something was off.
He glared at Todd: "Why did you close the door?"
"Don't you close the door when you bathe? What kind of habit is that?" Todd coldly took out a new towel. "Do you know how to run the hot water?"
Owen: "..."
Could he admit he didn't know how?
At home, Alfred and at least two servants attended to his baths.
All he had to do was lie in the bathtub.
But seeing Todd's disdainful look, he swallowed the words "I don't know."
He approached the bathtub and turned on the faucet.
Todd's voice was indifferent: "That's hot water, do you want to scald yourself?"
Owen turned the tap a bit to the right.
Todd: "If you're not afraid of the cold, that temperature will do."
Only after Owen stepped into the bathtub did he realize what Todd meant.
The water was too cold!
He couldn't take it anymore and shouted angrily: "You're doing this on purpose to bully me!"
