Chapter 71 Paying the Money
Haley arrived at the ROCK bar, pushed open the door to the private room, and saw Thomas tied up on the floor.
"Haley, you finally came." Thomas crawled towards her like a worm. Then, a man in black, kicked him to the side.
The man walked over with a cigarette in his mouth and asked, "Did you bring the money?"
Haley threw the box in her hand, saying, "Five million dollars."
The man in black tossed the box to his subordinate behind him and had them check the contents. A group of them spent a whole ten minutes inspecting before they finished. Haley grabbed Thomas by the collar and walked out of the private room.
"Haley, I'm sorry. Don't be mad at me. I'll never come to a place like this again."
"Mad at you? Ha, do I have that kind of time?" Haley gave him a hard push. "I'm warning you, if you encounter this kind of situation again in the future, I won't come to save you!"
He looked so embarrassed and stumbled, drawing laughter from the crowd around him. Haley was furious. Feeling humiliated by the spectacle, she walked over and kicked Thomas on the butt, urging him to get up.
Thomas was clutching his knee pitifully, asking Haley to help him up. Haley glanced at his neck, still marked with scratches and kisses from another woman, and she didn't want to dirty her hands.
Angrily, she told him to stay there if he wanted to embarrass himself. With a cold expression, she continued walking away.
Suddenly, she felt a strong gaze fixed on her. She followed the gaze and was dumbfounded. It was Ivan and a few others. They had witnessed the embarrassing scene. Haley continued to curse Thomas in her mind.
She thought of going over to greet Ivan and the others since they had just become business partners today. But before she could take a step, Thomas climbed up from the ground and hung onto her, pleading for her support as he said he really couldn't walk anymore.
His face looked terrible, as if he was genuinely unwell. Despite her aversion to him, Haley didn't want anything bad to happen to him. After nodding to Ivan from a distance, she led Thomas out of the bar. The two of them quickly disappeared at the entrance.
"Tsk tsk!"
