Chapter 618
Ivan suddenly left as if it had something to do with the woman named Katherine.
Todd was very suspicious whether Ivan had fallen in love with someone else.
But as a kid, he couldn't understand these emotional matters at all, and he didn't dare to ask his mom.
Now that Mommy had taken him aside alone, was she going to tell him about this?
Haley walked into Todd's bedroom and closed the door behind her. Then she sat on the edge of the bed and said softly, "Bring out your notebook."
Todd's fingers tightened. "Mommy..."
"I know you've hidden the notebook under the bed; bring it out," Haley said gently. "I'm not blaming you; I need your help with something."
Todd breathed a sigh of relief.
He almost thought Haley knew he had set up a hacker studio online.
If Haley intervened, he had no choice but to disband the studio.
Although Todd was reluctant to give up the business he had worked hard on, he would abandon anything if Mommy asked.
Fortunately, Haley didn't find out.
Todd lay on the floor, quickly took out the notebook, and obediently asked, "Mommy, what can I do for you?"
"Do you remember when I have asked you to search for information about a person named Sterling?" Haley said, "Find out where he is now, and whether he's still alive."
Todd nodded, his fingers swiftly tapping the keyboard, constantly searching for useful information.
Fifteen minutes later, Todd looked up and frowned. "Sterling was last seen in in Watertown twenty-eight days ago, then disappeared completely. I can't find any trace of him at all."
Haley said slowly, "Could he be dead?"
"Another possibility is that he's been imprisoned, cut off from all modern technology," Todd said. "He's now a wanted criminal by the police. Until the police announce his death, we can't conclude that he's passed away."
"Okay, I understand." Haley stood up. "Thank you, Todd."
Although she also knew hacking techniques, Todd was more skilled than her. If Todd could only find this much, it meant that Sterling had indeed disappeared.
And it was the kind of disappearance where he was neither seen alive nor found dead.
So why were Ivan and Katherine so sure that Sterling was dead?
Haley walked out of Todd's room, with her brows furrowed.
As soon as she left, Todd brought up another interface on the computer, his fingers quickly typing on the keyboard, the screen flashing with various black codes.
The door to the room was suddenly knocked on.
Todd quickly closed the notebook and calmly said, "Come in."
Keith pushed the door open and walked in, closing the door behind him. "Todd. What happened? what did Mommy want just now?"
Todd shook his head. "Nothing, what's wrong?"
Upon seeing that he didn't want to talk about it, Keith didn't press further. He paused and asked, "Did you change the name of the company Dad gave you?"
"Yes, I changed the name and the legal information," Todd said calmly. "It's a gift from Dad. Isn’t it okay for me to make these changes?"
Keith stared at him. "No problem, I'm just curious why you suddenly agreed to accept it?"
Over a month ago, Ivan gave Todd a company, which Todd didn't want at all, and he didn't even go to the company for a month.
But in the past few days, he has suddenly visited the company frequently. Changing the company's name and legal information wasn't easy, but Todd managed to do it all in three days.
It was hard not to wonder.
