Chapter 936
Haley finally dropped her cool, dismissive act.
Hollis smirked, sensing she had hit a nerve. "Why can't I bring up your mom, Haley? Even if you become Mrs. Winston, it doesn't change the fact that you're an illegitimate child! The Deross Family is pathetic, raising someone else's kid only for her to grow up and take over everything."
Haley's face turned dark. She raised her hand and slapped Hollis hard.
Haley's slap was so strong that it caught Hollis completely off guard.
Already unsteady, Hollis was knocked into the elevator wall, her mind buzzing.
Propping herself up against the wall, Hollis looked at Haley in disbelief. "Did you just hit me? Haley, you actually..."
"So what if I did?" Haley stepped forward, grabbing Hollis's hair, her eyes cold. "I can take your crap, but who gave you the right to talk about my mom? How dare you insult her?"
Hollis's scalp burned from the pain. She was losing it, getting beaten by Haley.
"Help! Help!" Hollis screamed, throwing her dignity out the window. She just wanted everyone to see Haley's true colors.
Haley, who would hit her elders, deserved everyone's contempt!
The commotion had already drawn the attention of many employees, who were too scared to get involved.
But as soon as Hollis called for help, the staff rushed over. Hearing the chaotic footsteps, the fierceness in Haley's eyes grew.
"Hollis, you insulted me and my mom, so you should've seen this coming." She yanked Hollis's hair and tossed her aside.
Hollis's head hit the metal edge of a trash can with a thud. It felt like her skull had cracked, blood instantly blurring her vision.
Haley gave her a cold look and stepped into the elevator.
"Ms. Lumi, are you okay?" The staff hurried over and helped Hollis up.
Hollis touched her head and found her hand covered in blood. The pain was so intense she nearly passed out. "Call an ambulance! Call the police!"
"What happened?" Cauth rushed over, shocked to see Hollis covered in blood.
"You have the nerve to ask what happened?" Hollis was furious. "Your illegitimate daughter beat me up like this! I've already called the police. Haley's gonna pay for this!"
Cauth was stunned for a moment. "Haley wouldn't do something like that."
Hollis's assistant said indignantly, "We all saw Ms. Deross slap Ms. Lumi twice in front of everyone at the elevator and even grabbed her hair and bashed her against the trash can."
"There are surveillance cameras in the hallway. It was definitely Ms. Deross who attacked Ms. Lumi."
"Ms. Deross went too far. How could she hit her own aunt?"
"No matter what, she shouldn't have resorted to violence."
Cauth steadied himself and said, "Let me call Haley and find out what happened. Don't call the police just yet."
With that, he quickly stepped aside to make a phone call.
