Chapter 626
Haley and Cauth were talking in a secluded corner.
They were both dressed in black and didn't attract much attention.
"Haley, have you not been resting well these days? Those dark shadows under your eyes are quite heavy," Cauth stared at Haley's face with a hint of concern, "If you can't sleep, it's best not to take sleeping pills. Instead. Drinking a cup of hot milk and soaking your feet before bed can help"
Haley smiled and nodded. "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Lumi. I'll remember that."
Cauth hesitated, pursing his lips, thenfinally spoke up, "May I ask have you got any trouble in your marriage?"
Haley raised her gaze, looking at him with a calm expression.
"I'm sorry!" Cauth quickly apologized, "I'm not prying, just trying to care for you. If you find it abrupt, you don't have to answer."
"My marriage with my husband is stable, and our relationship is good. Thank you for your concern."
Haley smiled, looking very relaxed.
Although Cauth was not a businessman, he was fifty years old and had lived long enough to understand most things.
He could tell that Haley was brushing him off..
He could also sense that there were significant issues in Haley's marriage.
However, Cauth didn't know how to continue expressing his concern.
To Haley, Cauth was almost like a stranger. Why should she confide in a stranger about her personal emotional issues?
That day, when Cauth heard the news of Ivan and Haley's marriage falling apart, he couldn't sleep at night. He felt sorry for Haley.
At the same time, he felt a shameful sense of relief.
If Haley and Ivan did get divorced, could he then acknowledge her as a daughter of the Lumi Family when Haley was alone?
But that thought was fleeting.
Cauth sincerely hoped that Haley could have a happy and fulfilling marriage, living happily.
"Dad, what are you talking about?" Just then, Bryan walked over, his gaze falling on Haley, "Who is this?"
Cauth shook off her reverie and returned to her senses. "This is Haley."
"Haley, nice to meet you," Bryan nodded lightly at Haley, then turned to Cauth and said softly, "Dad, Mother's death anniversary is approaching. How are you planning to arrange it?"
Haley heard the clear words. She smiled calmly, "Mr. Lumi, you two continue your chat. I'll go over there for now."
Haley walked away gracefully, heading to converse with other business partners.
Cauth looked regretful, turning his head. "Bryan, what brings you here so suddenly?"
Bryan said indifferently, "Dad, is Haley the person in those photos in your study?"
Cauth's expression changed. "Have you been to my study?"
"Dad, I don't mind if you find me a stepmother again, but not she," Bryan said coldly, "She's only two years older than me, and she's also the young lady of the Winston family. You better not do anything foolish."
Cauth couldn't believe it. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"People can't hide their actions forever," Bryan said lightly. "Mom's anniversary is around the corner, so you better prepare."
With that, he turned and walked away.
Cauth's face turned red with anger.
Haley was having a pleasant conversation with the CEOs she had collaborated with.
She glanced at the time, realizing it was late and time to leave.
Haley looked in the direction where Ivan had disappeared but didn't see that familiar figure.
