Chapter 68 I’m Sending a Coffee Maker

Louis knew, from Mark’s comment, that should there be any conflict, he definitely won't lend a hand. Louis seemed to have thought of something and shrunk his neck.

"I have many women; one less won't matter. Ivan has only experienced it once in his life and truly needs a woman. I'll withdraw. Is that acceptable?"

Upon hearing his name, Ivan turned back coldly. "What are you guys talking about?"

“Nothing.” Mark covered Louis’s mouth and followed Ivan onto the car.

Haley was busy in the office, dealing with various miscellaneous tasks. After finishing her work, she went online to post a job vacancy. Before she could send out the information, there was a knock on the office door. She thought it was the property management coming to update their records. When she opened the door, she locked eyes with three pairs of eyes.

She curved her lips and smiled. "I didn't expect Mr. Winston to actually grace me with his presence. Come in and have a cup of coffee."

She welcomed the three of them inside. To be honest, she really didn't expect Ivan to come. After all, the Winston Group was the largest conglomerate in Cuenca, and Ivan, as the CEO, was probably busy every day, to the point of not having time to sleep.

She, invited him to come over, as a way to test the waters. What a result, he came! This was enough to prove that he really valued her as a partner. So, the next step would go smoothly. Haley served the three of them coffee.

Louis sniffed and looked very disdainful. "This is instant coffee, right, Ms. DeRoss? Can't you make some good coffee?"

Haley just shrugged her shoulders. "The studio is still in the early stages, and we don't have the funds to buy a coffee machine yet. Please forgive me, Louis."

"Are you that poor?" Louis snorted. "I'll have a coffee machine sent over later. Consider it my donation."

"Well, thank you, Louis." Haley, didn't feel belittled at all, and accepted with a smile. Watching the friendly interaction between the two of them, Ivan's expression turned a bit sour.

He coldly said, "Just got beaten up, and now rushing to send a coffee machine. Are you asking for trouble?"

Louis didn't care and responded, "When a woman slaps you, you have to bring your left cheek forward for her to slap again. Only then will the woman calm down. Never mind, why am I even explaining this to you? You're a perpetual bachelor, how would you understand."

Feeling scorned, Ivan sneered, "Stop talking nonsense, let's discuss work."

Haley brought out the documents and handed each person a copy. "Two years ago, I worked on an intelligent car project with my mentor. The research results were recognized by Harvard at that time, but the investment was too large, so the research never took off."

Ivan started flipping through the documents. It was only three or four pages, but the ideas and blueprints for chip designs inside were very comprehensive. He knew it was only three days ago, when he proposed, to collaborate with her, and within these short three days, she had already planned everything out.

"In previous years, the focus of smart cars was mainly on developing autonomous driving capabilities, but my concept aims to enhance the experience of human-car interaction." Haley spoke confidently.

"To achieve a perfect experience, the most crucial issue is sensors. Currently, the best sensors on the market, work well in smart home environments, but they exhibit significant limitations in a dynamic vehicle."

Haley continued to talk for half an hour, and Louis occasionally asked questions, to which she provided flawless solutions. Ivan's gaze toward her now held a hint of admiration.
