Chapter 772
Ivan rubbed his fingers casually and said, "Your Majesty, are you still going to keep me imprisoned?"
"Do you think a mere factory can threaten me?" Isabella said coldly. "Two hours have already passed out of the twenty-four. Once the time is up, you'll know what awaits you."
"There are still twenty-two hours left." Ivan smirked. "A factory every half hour. There are only eight factories in Hinterlands worth over a billion dollars each. That means in four hours, it will be the factories within the borders of Country Y that will suffer. Even a developed nation like Country Y can't sustain such losses, can it?"
Isabella's eyes widened in anger. "Are you threatening me?"
"I wouldn't dare," Ivan chuckled slightly, "I'm merely helping you see the situation clearly."
"Your Majesty, terrible news!" A guard rushed in from outside the dark room. "The second largest factory in Hinterlands has exploded, and all the rare resources have been burned to ashes."
Isabella furtively checked the time, noting that exactly thirty minutes had elapsed since the preceding detonation.
She gritted her teeth, "you're insane! Do you know how precious the resources of these two factories are? Do you know how much damage you've caused?"
"What does that have to do with me?" Ivan sat leisurely, his eyes fixed on his watch, seemingly waiting for the next explosion.
Isabella clenched her fists in fury.
The factory explosions were one thing, but the subsequent issues caused by the destruction were another.
This action could potentially undermine the accomplishments she had recently attained.
"Although the Black Gang has surrendered, they still follow my orders. If I go missing or die, everyone in the Black Gang will gather to create chaos, turning Country Y into the next Hinterlands," Ivan said with a malicious smile. "Does Your Majesty still want to implant a bio-intelligent chip in my brain?"
Isabella was so angry that she could barely stand.
She gritted her teeth. "You were prepared for this, weren't you?"
"Everyone needs to leave themselves a way out. How could I step into the palace of Country Y without any preparation?" Ivan said calmly. "In ten minutes, it will be time for the subsequent explosion. Which factory will be destroyed this time?"
Isabella bit down hard on her molars. "Stop the explosions, and I'll let you go."
"Let me go first, and the explosions will stop."
Isabella's fists clenched so tightly that they made a cracking sound.
Ivan had so quickly dismantled her carefully laid trap.
She wanted her husband back by her side, but she couldn't give up her position as queen.
She had always sat at the highest place and couldn't bear the thought of falling from it.
Isabella said coldly, "Open the door and let him go!"
The heavy iron door was pulled open, and Ivan stood up calmly. As he passed by Isabella, he lowered his voice and said, "Don't try to capture me again, I will always have a loyal army at my service. I hope we never meet again."
He took long strides and walked out.
Isabella sat down weakly, holding onto a chair.
She had underestimated Leonardo and had been too hasty. But now, there was no chance left.
With two consecutive explosions, Hinterlands fell into chaos once again, and panic spread among the people.
Ivan walked through the panicked crowd and arrived at the door of a villa.
"Daddy! Daddy's back!"
"Daddy, I missed you so much. Why did it take you so long to come back?"
Owen and Angela dashed to the door, climbing onto Ivan's shoulders.
