Chapter 66 Chip Designer
Ivan nodded, "She does have the capability. You'll see when you meet her."
This automotive intelligent system research and development project was a collaboration among the three of them and considered an internal cooperation between their companies.
They had been unable to find a suitable chip designer, causing delays in the project.
Two days ago, Ivan suddenly called them, leaving both of them surprised. This project was a pioneer in the country, and someone without abilities and talent couldn't handle such immense pressure. Both of them were very curious about the person Ivan praised for being competent.
Time passed slowly during their conversations. Soon, the three of them had been waiting for nearly half an hour. Even Mark, who had a slightly better temper, became impatient.
Frowning, he said, “This genius is incredibly unpunctual.”
Ivan's brow furrowed slightly. Could it be that woman is still in the hospital? He called his secretary into the office, "Call Ms. DeRoss."
The secretary nodded and hurriedly made the call. Upon hearing this, the other two in the office were taken aback. Within their social circles, there were two Ms. DeRoss. Shouldn't Ivan be calling the talented designer instead? Why would he contact someone from the DeRoss family?
"Ivan, why did you ask the secretary to call Ms. DeRoss?" Mark asked, "Is it Haley DeRoss or Emily DeRoss?"
Ivan said calmly, "Haley, our partner for Project A-F."
"What? Haley is the genius chip designer you were referring to?!" Louis said incredulously, "Don't kid me. I didn't see anything exceptional about her!"
Aren't chip designers in this industry all balding middle-aged men between the ages of forty and sixty? How is this possible? Is it Haley? A beautiful woman, but not very smart. This was the conclusion he had drawn after so many years of romantic pursuits.
Ivan raised an eyebrow casually, "You'll know why I chose to collaborate with her once you see her."
"Oh, when we just arrived, I saw Ms. DeRoss leaving. Did you already talk to her?" Mark scratched the back of his head. "So, Louis and I were late?"
"You say she has already been here?" Ivan's brow furrowed slightly.
"I just ran into her downstairs. We didn't exchange a single word before she pushed me to the ground," Louis was incredulous. "If she becomes a business partner, I'm done for."
Mark looked at him disdainfully. “You’re not scared of a woman, are you?”
Ivan, wasn’t listening as he accessed the company's surveillance system. He rewound the recording, by half an hour and saw Haley entering the Winston Group building.
He called his secretary in, "Go to the front desk and ask why Haley left."
The secretary hurriedly went to do as instructed. The receptionist was gossiping with a colleague, "Did you see? A particularly beautiful woman came. I thought she was some socialite, but as soon as she spoke, she wanted to go to the CEO's office. Another one trying to seduce our CEO with her looks."
As she was speaking, Ivan’s secretary rushed over. He was a junior secretary in the CEO's office department, but since he was working for Ivan, no one in the company dared to offend him easily.
The receptionist quickly approached him, "Luke, what's going on?"
"Half an hour ago, Ms. DeRoss came to the Winston Group. Why did she suddenly leave?"
The receptionist's heart skipped a beat, but she still maintained her smile, "Which Ms. DeRoss?"
"The one who is very beautiful. She’s unforgettable once you see her. Mr. Winston and Ms. DeRoss had an appointment to discuss collaboration, but Ms. DeRoss hasn't shown up yet. What happened?"
"She, she had an appointment with the CEO?" The receptionist looked panicked. "I, I told her to leave..."
